For all of you joining us on our upcoming trip this Thursday, we need everyone to be at Bet Torah by 8:15. Traffic going into the City is always a magical mystery tour. So, we want to give ourselves plenty of time.

Please park away from the main area, if possible.

There is a possibility of rain, so you may want to bring an umbrella or coat.

Torah In The Trees
Monday, August 6th @ 9:30am
Rockefeller State Park

Please join us as we explore trails, trees and Jewish texts on a couple of mornings this summer. We will share some brief reflections from the Jewish tradition and then walk and talk and maybe find God...or at the very least, enjoy the scenery and one another's company. No need to RSVP, just show up and we will meet in the parking area (dogs are welcome). Please email  lifelonglearning@bettorah.org with any questions.
(125 Phelps Way Mount Pleasant, $6 parking fee w/out sticker)
Follow Route 117 straight past Pace University. Continue straight on 117 until you see the sign for the park.  You will need to turn left to enter the parking area."

Well, we just celebrated the 4th of July, so it makes sense we are already thinking about Purimspeil ;) Many of you have seen and enjoyed Bet Torah's wonderful annual Purimspiel, a beloved original production that is almost entirely congregant-produced. Believe it or not, the work on next year's Purimspiel is already starting! There is one thing we need to make it a success - you. If you enjoy watching Purimspiel, please consider helping or getting involved in any way. We very much need people who are willing to simply help with even a single production task, and we greatly appreciate all assistance! Some tasks require only a few minutes of time, such as sending out an email or sending information for  The Message  or Bet Torah weekly email. You might be willing to usher at the performance, or help coordinate rehearsal space needs, or do any of the many small but critical tasks that make the production Purimspiel. You might be interested in helping with stage crew or performing or being in the band. This year's show will take place Sunday, March 24, and rehearsals begin in early December.

If you are curious about Purimspiel, contact
Lisa Ginsberg at  LKginsberg@aol.com  for additional information.
Are you an alum of USY, Nativ, or the Conservative Yeshiva, between the ages of 21 and 40? If you are, you could be a part of our new alumni initiative starting this September in New York City! We are planning monthly programs, Shabbat dinners, social events, and learning opportunities. If you are interested in hosting/chairing an event, or joining our volunteer planning committee, please contact nycalumni@usy.org . Be sure to mark you calendars for our first major event on October 12th , #ShabbatAcrossUSY.
