If you would like to attend services in person, please read the following guidelines.
- We will have limited seating at 24 people per service.
- Those observing a Yahrzeit will be given first priority.
- Masks will be worn by every person walking into Beth El. Low volume singing is allowed.
- We will allow fully vaccinated attendees (bring vaccination card 2 weeks after the final shot as proof) to sit together without social distancing restrictions. This will only be needed once.
- For all other attendees, we will be adhering to the CDC's protocol on social distancing.
- Please see the attached questionnaire below. If you exhibit any of these symptoms, please do not request a seat.
- Please email Elissa by Thursday, April 22nd by noon at the link below to reserve a seat for this Shabbat, April 23rd and 24th.
- You will need to arrive between 6:30 pm to 6:50 pm, for Friday night services. For the Saturday morning service, you need to arrive between 9:30 am to 9:50 am. We will not interrupt the service to let people in. Please allow time to have your temperature taken. Doors will be locked at 6:50 pm on Friday evening and 9:50 am on Saturday morning.

I can’t believe I almost missed this week’s eblast article again. My apologies! I almost had a number of good excuses I have collected over the past few weeks, but I can’t use them this time. Just because the laundry room fluorescent wouldn’t come on and in the dark I consistently miss the correct buttons on the alarm system causing the alarm to go off, waking up the entire development, but I couldn’t use that as an excuse. Just because the fascia on the back of the house needs to be replaced and the ripping and banging DIDN’T happen, I couldn’t use that either. Just because I had put out (for pickup by the Vietnam Veterans) a small table, paintings, and a desk chair that I put out on the wrong day....I won’t claim that excuse either. Just because the kitchen fluorescent light needed replacement and I had the wrong date on the calendar and waited all day for them to arrive! Oh well. I guess I just need to chill…and how do I chill? I’ll let you guess. No I won’t. I can’t think of a better place to chill than at services.

— BELLES (Beth El Literary Ladies Enjoying Sisterhood) Thurs, May 6 at 7:00 Karen Toker will lead our discussion of The Enchantress, by Maggie Anton. This novel is set in 3rd century Babylon and Palestine, the Talmudic period. Anton writes historical fiction about strong Jewish women, and here, weaves in well-researched Talmud and magic. And Karen does terrific research herself. Whether we have read the book or not, we will definitely learn a lot about our scholarly tradition. Please join us!

Stuart Frisch, Regional Security Director for the Secure Community Network (SCN), will present this important briefing designed to prepare community members to counter an active threat event.
This presentation is the second session in a two-part training as we move towards implementing a community-wide security plan. You do not need to have attended the first session to participate in the second session.
Learning Objectives:
• Know the difference between security and safety
• Have a better understanding of active threat incidents
• Identify and explain responses during an active shooter incident
• Understand how to prepare for an active threat event
• Know how to respond to law enforcement arrival
• Be able to act during an active threat event
