If you are interested in reading a particular prayer during a service, please contact Neal Goldman at nealg18@novusba.com with the page number of the prayer in the Mishkan T’filah prayer book. Please indicate whether you would like to read during the upcoming Friday evening or Saturday morning service. All prayers will be read towards the end of services.

Please send this information no later than noon the Thursday prior to the service. We look forward to continuing to join together as best as we can during these challenging times to support each other and our community. The online version of the Mishkan T’filah can be found here:

Let me tell you

the rest of the story. So, I went to Atlanta to see the rest of the family. Now, this 76-year-old should know her limitations, but she seems to push to the limit and just a little extra. They are doing construction upstairs, so I must go see the progress. No problem. Beautiful job! Have to check again about two hours later. Really, lovely. Oops, I miss the bottom step and hyper-extend my knee (the good one). Didn’t fall, just landed perfectly to hyper-extend. As I’m standing there at the bottom of the steps, a family friend walks in and asks why I’m just standing there, not moving. Well, I explain. She gets the crutches (they just happen to have numerous sizes), Advil, and I hobble to the recliner with one crutch (don’t need two...I’m a klutz anyway) and an ice pack. Our son walks in, does a double-take, and says “Mom, what happened”. He’s feeling guilty for having steps in their house and I’m feeling guilty causing them stress. Anyway, knowing I have another 350 miles on the next leg (cute) of this trip, I wait two days before I venture out to the local drug store to replace the crutch with a cane. No problem. Arrive at Perdido Key to a home on stilts (18 steps up to the first level) then realize the bedroom is another 13 steps up. Oy. No problem. Do you know what the point of this story is? Going to Temple is a lot easier. I hope to see you there. No steps, thank goodness.
