BETH EL HAPPENINGS
As we continue to join together for Shabbat via Zoom, please note that we are now offering attendees to read prayers that are meaningful to them during the service. If you are interested in reading a particular prayer during a service, please contact Neal Goldman at nealg18@novusba.com with the page number of the prayer in the Mishkan T’filah prayer book. Please indicate whether you would like to read during the upcoming Friday evening or Saturday morning service. All prayers will be read towards the end of services.

Please send this information no later than noon the Thursday prior to the service. We look forward to continuing to join together as best as we can during these challenging times to support each other and our community. The online version of the Mishkan T’filah can be found here:

I need a remedial course in computers. Our grandchildren have tried desperately to “school” me in the difference between “Office 2007” on the 13 year old HP monstrosity and this new iPad Pro lap top. The HP decided it had had enough and just quit! Oh, great! After consultation with one of our daughter’s-in-law, I purchased this new gizmo. You know, I go back to “Word Perfect”, so something this easy is just so very confusing! WYSIWYG is my mantra. So, I guess that dates me! In any case, please accept my apologies as this new lap top (no “user” error, of course) seems to double up previous “notes” and sends them out. So now, congregants get emails directed to other people! Oy! Is it too late to put back the smashed motherboard (?) into the tower that was sent to the garbage heap 6 weeks ago? Probably...but what a visual. Just please again accept my apologies for messed up emails. Thank goodness the rest of the Board works continuously behind the many scenes to address everyday issues in a much better and less computer challenged atmosphere. Take care, stay safe, and “we’re here for you”, literally!

BETH EL BROTHERHOOD
BETH EL SISTERHOOD
As with tradition, 2020 wasn't going to be any harder for Beth El's wonderful and amazing Sisterhood. Although it looked a little different this year, meals were delivered to our amazing front line workers. Thank you to Vickie, Bobby, and all our sisterhood members for making sure our local firefighters and police officers were fed on Christmas day.
Sisterhood's next BELLES (Beth El Literary Ladies Enjoying Sisterhood)  is Thursday, Jan 7, 2021, at 7:00Melanie Nassberg will lead our discussion of The Book of V, by Anna Solomon. This novel will put us in a Pre-Purim mode! The author is a journalist who has written for the NY Times Magazine and the Boston Globe, and her detailed settings across centuries reflect her keen journalistic eye. Everyone is welcome! As usual, you do not have to have read the BELLES book to join us and contribute to our consideration of its universal themes. Here, on female power and powerlessness.
