A MESSAGE FROM JFCSJAX:
Effective Monday, March 23rd, Jewish Family & Community Services has received financial assistance dollars from the United Way Disaster Relief Fund. These funds are available to people experiencing financial hardship
directly related to the Covid Pandemic.
Initially the focus will be on ensuring that people have the ability to get needed prescriptions and have access to food. As we move through the process, we will adjust the focus to rent/mortgage and utility payments. With the hope to reassure you, it needs to be noted that during this time JEA will not be turning off power to homes and all evictions have been temporarily halted.
For the Jewish Community, please direct anyone expressing a financial need
directly related to the Covid Pandemic
to Hilary Rotenberg at 904-394-5722. For anyone within the general community please direct them to call 211. General community calls will be handled by Jewish Family & Community Services, Catholic Charities, BEAM and Elder Source.
Please let the people know that you are referring to JFCS or 211 that there may be a 3-5 day turnaround time to receive services. We are hopeful to be able to address peoples needs within a shorter time frame but we also want to manage people's expectations and limit those leaving multiple messages.
Our food pantry and food delivery programs remain open "business as usual" until further notice. People are able to get pick up bagged food between 1-3pm on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons at our Dupont location 6261 Dupont Station Court East.
Our counseling department has moved to a teletherapy model and anyone needing therapeutic assistance can call 904-394-5706 to schedule an appointment.
