BETH EL HAPPENINGS
As we continue to join together for Shabbat via Zoom, please note that we are now offering attendees to read prayers that are meaningful to them during the service. If you are interested in reading a particular prayer during a service, please contact Neal Goldman at nealg18@novusba.com with the page number of the prayer in the Mishkan T’filah prayer book. Please indicate whether you would like to read during the upcoming Friday evening or Saturday morning service. All prayers will be read towards the end of services.

Please send this information no later than noon the Thursday prior to the service. We look forward to continuing to join together as best as we can during these challenging times to support each other and our community. The online version of the Mishkan T’filah can be found here:

Well...
This has been so frustrating. As you probably know I am “of an age group” next in line for the covid-19 pharmaceutical panacea. So, having tried to contact St. Johns (where is the comma that should be there...that bothers me) County Health Department after dialing them directly and then “refreshing” 153 times from 9:00 to 9:13 January 7th on their wonderful website, I finally gave up and called later in the day. I got through and spoke with such a nice gentleman who registered me for the covid “alert system” which would notify me when St. Johns County gets the next round of the vaccine. Super, I thought! My next question was....when would that be expected and how many doses would there be? He said that sometime next week St. Johns County would be notified “when and how many”. Okay, I get it! Next week came (this past week) and I spoke with him again. Oh, joy! St. Johns County has more than 250,000 residents and would be getting 600 doses. That hardly seemed like a winning proposition, so I went to Duval County to register at the Prime Osborn site. They have the same URL(?) website (Eventbrite.com), no joy to work with or understand for a woman “of that age”! With help from our granddaughter, I am getting up at my usual 5:00 a.m. tomorrow (Thursday) to be prepared for the 9:00 a.m. pursuit of the St. Johns County website access (which I feel would be a waste of time), followed also by the same pursuit of the Duval County website at 5:00 p.m. in case the morning’s pursuit is unsuccessful. Not really so accessible are these sites! Updates to this next week.
