Why Len & Judy created this scholarship

"It is important that we raise up the next generation of potential leaders for our future Jewish community and I believe the Jewish summer camp experience is an integral part of that process. A Jewish overnight camp is a place to learn new skills, have fun, and meet new friends with whom you share your ideas about Judaism and life. Jewish summer camp was a place that taught me to become a proud and committed Jew and that is my hope for recipients of our scholarship fund. This year I will be expanding the program to include two new, special scholarships: one specifically in honor of my wife, Judy, of blessed memory, who passed last year, and one reserved for a teen that wants to attend Camp Tel Yehudah, which is the summer camp I attended in my youth."

Beth El-The Beaches Synagogue Sisterhood is thrilled to offer camp scholarships for children of Sisterhood members who will be attending a Jewish camp.

Camperships will be awarded between $250-$1,000!

Yoga Shalom is on Wednesdays at 10:00am. Yoga Shalom is for everyone, regardless of their level of yoga experience or physical abilities. It will help you relax your body, calm your mind, strengthen your body, enhance your flexibility, and nurture your spirit. It can be practiced on a mat or in a chair. Yoga Shalom is a spiritual and physical journey, guided by a sequence of traditional Hebrew morning prayers and beautiful music with Cantor Lisa Levine, choreographed to yoga postures, led via DVD by Lisa Levine and Carol Krucoff. Contact Barbara Hood, [email protected] for any questions about Yoga Shalom.

Beth El Brotherhood invites YOU to an enjoyable and delicious outing.

Where: Jacksonville Clay Target Sports,

           12125 New Berlin Rd,

           Jacksonville, FL 32226

When: Wednesday, February 1, under the lights.  

Shooting starts at 5:30. Get there as soon as you can! If you haven’t handled a shotgun before, help will be available. Bring guests! Women are invited.

Dinner at 7. Beef steak or Salmon. Charcoal grills are set up for you to grill your selection. There are a variety of sides to choose from and desserts.

Cost is $25 for shooting and $25 for eating. Pay treasurer Ron Van when you get there. You don’t have to shoot to eat! Limit 20 people.
