BETH EL HAPPENINGS

Upcoming events:

September 15th - Sisterhood Fashion Show

 September 16th - Tot Shabbat

Children 7 and under: learn about the holidays through story time with Rabbi Dyme. We will have a special Oneg just for you. You don't want to miss this.

 September 17th - Havdalah & Selichot

Please join us on Saturday evening, September 17th at 7:00 PM for our Havdalah service which symbolically ends Shabbat and ushers in the new week. Our Selichot service is a time for inner reflection and forgiveness. Prayers are read and meditations are considered as individuals are encouraged to reflect on the past year and the changes they wish to make in the upcoming one in preparation for the High Holy Days.

We invite all adults and children to participate in our meaningful ritual of changing our everyday Torah covers and Bima table cover to ones specifically designed for the High Holy Days. We are very sensitive to the fact that with children in attendance the time and length of an evening service are crucial to maximizing children and family participation. The service will be about an hour in duration.

Immediately following, join us at the Beth El Sisterhood-sponsored Ice Cream Social.

Everyone had a great time at our Pasta and Bingo night.  The student Shabbat was a time for everyone to be together and let the warmth of Shabbat rejuvenate us.

Yoga Shalom will resume Wednesday, October 12th at 10:00am. Yoga Shalom is for everyone, regardless of their level of yoga experience or physical abilities. It will help you relax your body, calm your mind, strengthen your body, enhance your flexibility, and nurture your spirit. It can be practiced on a mat or in a chair. Yoga Shalom is a spiritual and physical journey, guided by a sequence of traditional Hebrew morning prayers and beautiful music with Cantor Lisa Levine, choreographed to yoga postures, led via DVD by Lisa Levine and Carol Krucoff. Contact Barbara Hood, [email protected] for any questions about Yoga Shalom.

After yoga and a short break, at 11:30am, Gail Greenfield will present a course in Jewish Meditation, followed by a period of meditation. You are welcomed to attend both or either of these offerings. These are offered in a partnership with Beth El Sisterhood and Beth El Adult Education at no charge. Contact Gail at [email protected] with any questions about the meditation program and to RSVP

It’s

good, I mean really, really good to be back! Actually leaving the airport I took a wrong turn and ended up going to Callahan on a two-way road with cars and trucks behind me trying to push me to 70 miles an hour. You really can’t do that when you’re trying to find a driveway, a shoulder, or a gas station to turn around in. As I said..it’s good to be here. So I did make it back in time for the Sisterhood annual meeting. These women are awesome. So much energy and purpose. And I was so looking forward to Havdalah at the Beach. Well, next time. So…question. How do I make Row 6 right side in the sand? I’ll have to work on that.

Gift Shop:
Dear Parents,
Are you planning your son or daughter's b'nei mitzvah?
My name is Rose Aglieco and I am the Beth El Judaica gift shop manager. I would love to assist you with selections of gifts, tallism, and kippot, which can be personalized.
You may start exploring kippots on: www.avivjudaica.com
I will then be able to ask for samples of colors. I will need about 6-8 to complete your order.

There are many many options for Talism. There are some in the Beth El gift shop, but your child may want something different.
The vendor which I like working with can embroider on tallit or bag. Www.ajudaica.com
