Please join me in celebrating the B’nai Mitzvah of my children, Isaac and Lillian Haims, on August 5th, 2023 at 10 am. Additionally, it is the 70th anniversary of their grandfather’s (Marshall Minster) bar mitzvah. We are beyond overjoyed that this amazing simcha is being celebrated.
Both children will be attending Navarre High School in the fall. Isaac is going into his junior year standing in the top 10 of his graduating class. He is interested in writing and math. At school (and indeed everywhere), he is well-loved, admired, and sought out. His Bar Mitzvah project was serving as a camp counselor for Dream Street - a camp for kids with severe disabilities. His compassion, dedication, and belief in others helped him excel in this difficult task to the point where the camp leaders begged him to return next year. Donations in his name can be made here: Dream Street
Lillian is entering high school next year, but as many who know her can attest, she is wise beyond her years. Lillian is a committed member of the Pensacola Children’s Chorus and had the opportunity to sing with the Pensacola Opera last year! If you get a chance, definitely catch one of her performances as her stage presence is truly mesmerizing. Lilly’s compassion and empathy reaches beyond humans so as to include the animals in our world. As such, her bat mitzvah project was volunteering at and collecting donations for S.O.C.K.S. Donations in her name can be made here: S.O.C.K.S.
Marshall (Papa) will be traveling from Las Vegas, NV with his wife, Phyllis (Bubbe), and will be reading the Haftarah during the ceremony.
