Missy's Message

Greetings,

As we head into this holiday season and a new year, we reflect on all God has done at Bethesda House and look ahead to the upcoming year with joyful anticipation of what’s to come for 2023. We are so excited to share the new options we will be offering. In addition to the traditional Education Program that all our past moms were enrolled in, we are excited to be expanding our program to meet the needs of even more moms who may be seeking a different plan.

The two new options are:

1. Bridge Program- a 6-9 week short term program that offers a safe place to reset and learn important skills before moving on.

2. Work Program- an approximately 1 year program with the goal of working to save and gain financial security.

The main focus of each of these tracks will always be on showing the moms and babies God's great love for them while also providing guidance, parenting and life skills, in a safe and loving environment. We believe these changes will allow us to help more young women as the prolife practical solution we aim to be. It’s because of your continued support and generosity we can do this. So, we THANK YOU. We pray God’s continued blessing on you and yours. And from our “home” to yours, MERRY CHRISTMAS!

For His Glory,

Missy

Messages from the Moms:

"Since moving into Bethesda House over a year ago, I have grown so much. I have been able to focus on my daughter and my education. BH has helped me learn how to save my money and not spend it all in one place. I am proud to be a mom from BH because when it is time for me to move out, I can say “I made it because I worked really hard in the program.” Thank you to those who have helped my daughter and I and for getting us to where we are today. I love my BH family."

— Mom E.

Bethesda House and its team members have given me the chance to work on myself and help me balance motherhood and daily life. They gave me a safe place to bring my baby boy into this world and they have helped me further my relationship with the Lord. They have supported me from the beginning and they are continuing to be supportive of my plans with my baby and his father. They are a lighthouse for those of us caught in life’s storm. I hope to be the best Christian, mother and person that I can be by the end of my stay with their help.

— Mom R.

Interested in Hosting a Baby Bottle Drive?

Individuals, churches, and businesses who are looking to raise funds to supplement the daily needs of running Bethesda House can become part of our Baby Bottle Ministry. Funds raised through this ministry help us purchase diapers, cleaning supplies, school supplies and other miscellaneous items that help make Bethesda House a home.

Large baby bottles can be displayed with informational materials at your place of business or church. Members are encouraged to donate their change, bills or checks. In addition, small baby bottles can be distributed to members to take home for their own fundraising efforts and returned by the collection date (usually about 4-6 weeks). On average, one small baby bottle can generate about $35! Multiply that by the number of participants and that really adds up! If you are interested in hosting a Baby Bottle Drive, please e-mail [email protected].

VOLUNTEER AT BETHESDA HOUSE

Messages from Volunteers:

"When attending training last spring, I knew I was where I was supposed to be.  There were several “God winks” leading me to Bethesda House and Missy’s overview of this special home confirmed it all. I provide transportation for one of the women regularly. We share thoughts and ideas about motherhood, work and life challenges.  I’ve watched this young woman grow in her role as a mom and as a responsible employee at a day care facility.  I’ve observed how she interacts positively with staff, students and parents.  She genuinely enjoys her job and the people she serves.  Of late, she has taken coursework to complete her requirements as a day care provider and is enjoying her successes as a student. Finally, she is working toward her own independence by setting goals and preparing for her future to successfully navigate the path God has laid out for her. Her happy little girl has grown into a true toddler; learning how to walk, talk and even sing.  She has her own personality and knows what she wants and attempts to make it happen… kind of like her Mom. These are the moments that contribute to my joy each week."

-- Volunteer Kathy

"As a volunteer at Bethesda House, you form relationships with the moms in all different stages of motherhood. During their pregnancy, the newborn stage, and as their babies develop and grow. I love this aspect of the home, getting to share in the gift of motherhood which is truly the best and the hardest job we will do as women. Getting to spend time driving them to appointments and jobs gives them time to share their day, their hopes and dreams. Spending time in the house with them, you experience how hard they are working to better themselves. The women want more for themselves and Bethesda House gives them the opportunity to achieve this. The most important gift they are given here is the gift of faith. When you know that you are unconditionally loved by God you can accomplish much for He strengthens us and gives us all we need."

-- Volunteer Kim

We are looking for Morning, Afternoon, and Evening Support
