Dear Bethesda SC Parents and Players,

It has been a tremendous start to the year for our U15-U19 Boys teams with a full compliment of teams in each age group. As players progress into the older age groups the potential for clubs to have fewer teams because of burnout or other interests becomes a real possibility. It’s a credit to the coaches, players, and parents that we have three teams in each age group and a successful Academy.

This year has started off extremely well in terms of success on the field as well. Our U15 Blue, U15 Green, and U16 White teams have all won high-level tournaments. In addition, the U17 and U19 Academy teams have advanced to the next round of the inaugural U.S. Soccer Development Academy DA Cup.

With high school soccer ending in the next couple weeks, we look forward to getting all our players out to training and getting prepared for the Bethesda Premier Cup.

The older boys were extremely successful last year and we hope to build on the momentum, and we should recognize the older boys coaches as they deserve a lot of credit for their commitment and execution to their teams.

Congratulations on a great start to the season and we look forward to seeing everyone out on the field.

Best,

Matt Ney
Older Boys Director (U15-U19)

Key Updates Ahead Of The 2019 Bethesda Premier Cup!

Notice anything different?

As we prepare to kick-off the 36 th annual Bethesda Premier Cup , we wanted to point out some things you will and won’t see at this year’s tournament.

The tournament has expanded to include three weekends this year with Boys and Girls Youth (U9-U13) Weekend taking place on November 9-10 followed by our Older Girls Weekend (U14-U19) on November 15-17 and our Older Boys Weekend (U14-U19) on November 22-24. This will allow us to provide a top-notch experience for all age groups by utilizing the Maryland SoccerPlex for our youth teams as well as our high school age players. Games will no longer be held at Muldoon’s Farm and the Polo Grounds where many of you have experienced the muddy surfaces and parking issues.

We are pleased to announce that the tournament is also now insured. We have worked with Lockton Internationa l out of London to ensure our ability to respond to teams with refunds if we again encounter extreme weather conditions.

Finally, teams are no longer required to sell advertising or to purchase team pages for the tournament. There is still an option for those who would like to do fundraising , but it is not mandatory. We know how much the event depends on the volunteer efforts of our members and we want you to know we couldn’t do it without you!

Our Age Group Coordinators will be contacting you soon with volunteer opportunities and additional information on this year's tournament!
