”For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline” (2 Timothy 1:7).

Dear friends,

It is hard to believe we are already more than halfway through the hot summer! On July 21st, we completed our leadership conference for local Christian leaders. It was an inspiring event for all who attended and we are confident that many lives are changed. In this issue you will read one testimony from one of the conference attendees.

As I am writing this letter, we are full-swing in the middle of our Children’s English Camp, with the theme “Around the World in 7 Days.” It is an awesome sight to see our campus covered with little children, both Christian and Muslim, running and playing and having a great time here. We have been posting photos and videos on our Facebook page – please check them out!

We are also excited to announce our upcoming e-learning program, which will be available to the entire Arabic-speaking world. Don’t miss the video in this newsletter, which explains more about this exciting new program!

Thanks again for your faithful friendship and support of BBC. It means so much to us!

Yours for His glory,

Rev. Dr. Jack Sara
Bethlehem Bible College

Despite the difficult situation we have been living under for more than 68 years, Palestine is known worldwide as having one of the lowest illiteracy rates. The Palestinian people are among the most well-educated people on earth. In all of Palestine, illiteracy is only 2% according to a report by UNESCO. As a Palestinian, it is an honor to write about this subject; it makes me feel proud of my own people. As Mandela says, education is the only weapon we have as an occupied nation.

Anyone who visited Bethlehem Bible College in the past 14 years probably remembers Samar Mizher. As our receptionist in the front office, she is often the first face that people see when they enter the college. With her cheerful smile and humble countenance she puts all our visitors immediately at ease.

Have you ever thought of making a difference? Have you ever gotten the chance to be the person in charge of steering the wheel? Do you consider yourself a leader? How do you keep yourself motivated in terms of leadership? What makes you sure you’re leading in the right track? These compelling questions and so many others were beautifully answered through an outstanding five-day program, from July 19th through 15th. It was held in the Golden Hotel located in the picturesque Al Taybeh village. This program, entitled “The History Maker’s Journey” is the outcome of a joint collaboration between “International Leadership Institute” (ILI) and Bethlehem Bible College ...

“Each one will be like a shelter from the wind and a refuge from the storm, like streams of water in the desert and the shadow of a great rock in a thirsty land” (Isaiah 32:2).

While temperatures soar in Bethlehem and students take a break from their studies, things remain just as busy at Bethlehem Bible College. We are hosting several large projects this month, which we would appreciate prayer for.
