On the 15th of November, the Bethlehem University Foundation honored friends of Bethlehem University and Bethlehem University Foundation, Mr. John E. Steger and the Bethlehem Association Scholarship Fund, and invested several Patrons at the reception at the Apostolic Nunciature in Washington, DC. The evening was graciously hosted by His Excellency, Archbishop Christophe Pierre, Apostolic Nuncio to to the United States of America, pictured above. "The Archbishop Pietro Sambi ‘Star of Bethlehem’ Award for Services to the Bethlehem University Foundation"  was presented to Mr. John Steger in recognition of his 13 years of service and leadership as a founding member of the Board of Directors of the Bethlehem University Foundation, including four years as Chairman of the Board.
"The Pio Cardinal Laghi Founders Award for Outstanding Support to Bethlehem University"  was presented to the Bethlehem Association Scholarship Fund for its generosity in scholarship gifts, assisting over 250 students at Bethlehem University since the inception of the program. Dr. Edward Hazbun, Chairman of the Scholarship Committee, accepted the award on behalf of the Bethlehem Association Scholarship Fund.
The Board of Directors of the Bethlehem University Foundation created the  Patrons of Bethlehem University Foundation  in 2016. The Patrons are those individuals or couples who make a qualifying gift to the Patron Endowment. By their generosity, the members of this giving society invest themselves into the work of the Foundation in its sole mission of supporting and promoting Bethlehem University.
During the evening, Dr. Mary E. Moran was invested as a Bronze Patron of the Bethlehem University Foundation. She is pictured with Sister Irene O'Neill, CSJ, Chair of the Board of Directors of the Bethlehem University Foundation to her right, and Brother Peter Bray, FSC, Vice Chancellor (President) of Bethlehem University to her left.
Also invested as Bronze Patrons of the Bethlehem University Foundation were the Honorable George Salem, member of the Board of Directors of the Bethlehem University Foundation, and his wife Mrs. Rhonda Salem.
The title of  Legacy Patron  is bestowed by resolution of the Board of Directors upon individuals or couples who have generously supported the work of the Bethlehem University Foundation by creating an enduring legacy through scholarships, endowments, building projects, or other means of support. Mr. John and Mrs. Nan Steger were invested as Legacy Patrons in recognition for their dedication to Bethlehem University and for their role in the establishment of the Brother Vincent Malham Faculty Recognition Award Endowment.
