The National Weather Service Forecasts Excessive Heat through Monday, August 25
Hot weather is here through August 25, 8 p.m. Ashland temperatures are expected to top 95°F. Cooling centers and resources are available to help beat the heat.

Downtown Planter Improvements are Underway
PNW Concrete Concepts has started replacing capstones on downtown planters. Sidewalks will remain open throughout the project, which is expected to be completed in early September.
Construction will pause during the annual Sidewalk Sale, September 5 through 7. Thank you for your patience as we work to improve our downtown!

Council Approves Emergency Shelter Phase II Construction Contract
On August 19, 2025, Ashland City Council approved a $947K contract for Phase II upgrades to 2200 Ashland Street and appointed an ad hoc committee to support Master Plan implementation for the shelter site.

| | Recology Recycling Programs as of July 2025 | | |
Effective July 1, 2025, the initial phase of Oregon’s Recycling Modernization Act (RMA) went into effect. This means Recology Ashland will adhere to the new Unified Statewide Collection List (USCL) for curbside recyclables. Some NEW items that can be included in your blue recycling cart include:
- Nursery pots
- Plastic pails and buckets
- Aseptic and poly-coated cartons (e.g., milk cartons and “Tetra Pak” shelf-stable cartons)
- Egg cartons and other molded pulp packaging
- Scrap metal (e.g., kitchen pots and pans)

Better Together: Recycling Meets Reuse
Ashland Recology and Goodwill have teamed up to bring Ashland a mobile Goodwill donation trailer, now open at the Ashland Recycling Center! You can now drop off gently used clothing and home goods during regular recycling hours.
Tue through Sat,
9 am. to 5 p.m.
With this new addition, the recycling center becomes an even greater resource for reducing waste and supporting our community.
