MATS Reporting Update
As many of you know, Mercury and Air Toxics (MATS) performance test data has been required to be submitted to EPA’s Clean Air Markets Division via PDF uploads using the Emissions Collection and Monitoring Plan System (ECMPS). If you are doing this then you are probably also aware, §60.10031(f) states that on or after July 1, 2020, within 60 days of completing each CEMS performance test you must submit the required performance test reports through EPA’s Webfire database using EPA’s Compliance and Emissions Data Reporting Interface (CEDRI). However, what you may not be aware of is that EPA issued a new Final MATS rule on July 17, 2020.
The updated rule addresses reporting changes for MATS, and while all aspects of the new reporting structure have not been identified, an important update from this new rule is that the deadline to submit your MATS performance evaluation reports, whether using CEMS or quarterly testing for continued compliance under 40 CFR Part 63 Subpart UUUUU, via PDF files has been extended through December 31, 2023. Any reports containing data after this date will be required to be submitted through ECMPS under the new reporting structure that is still under development.
CEMTEK KVB-Enertec is actively involved in this revision process and we are currently going through the new version of the MATS rule to identify what else has changed.
