NCE hosts another successful Ohio Cooperative Youth Day

Last month, North Central Electric was proud to host another successful Cooperative Youth Day! Over 50 students, sponsored by NCE, Lorain-Medina Rural Electric Cooperative, and Firelands Electric Cooperative met with state legislators, learned about Buckeye Power and Ohio's Electric Cooperatives, and experienced Ohio history in one fun-filled day.

Students got to hear from Representative Gary Click, Senator Bill Reineke, staffers form the office of Representative Riordan McClain, Ohio's Electric Cooperatives' Doug Miller, and government affairs staff, Marc Armstrong and Kelly Barr, all of whom cultivated an amazing experience for the high school students.

NCE would also like to thank YOU, our members, for supporting our youth programs and encouraging your children to participate in these fantastic opportunities. It is programs like Cooperative Youth Day that help NCE empower our communities!

Member Advisory Committee interest applications open

The committee meets twice per year for three to four hours per session. Applications will be reviewed and committee members will be considered by the NCE board of directors. Those appointed will serve three-year terms, which will run concurrently with the terms served by their district’s board director.

NCE hosts Live Line demonstration at New Riegel VFD

Last week, NCE hosted a Live Line demonstration at the NBS Joint Fire District in New Riegel. The demonstration was hosted by our Manager of Safety and Compliance Mike Stahl, along with linemen Nate Miller and Ethen Clouse. Fun fact: When he’s not in a bucket truck, Ethen is also an NBS Firefighter!

Live Line demonstrations help provide education about electrical safety and navigating electrical hazards. They are available to organizations within NCE’s service territory and provide valuable information to those that attend. If your organization is interested in hosting a Live Line demonstration, contact us at nce@fesco-oh.org or by calling 419-426-3072.
