Educating communities on electric safety

At LMRE, safety is more than a priority—it’s a culture. Recently, the co-op hosted a live line demonstration to strengthen community members' understanding of electrical safety.

Led by Safety and Compliance Coordinator Mike Stahl and Lineman Nick Keys, the demonstration aimed to inform attendees about best practices when faced with everyday electrical hazards. The hands-on presentation offered participants a unique opportunity to observe potential “what if” scenarios in a controlled environment, enhancing their understanding of safe practices around power lines.

“As we approach our daily tasks, we are constantly thinking about keeping the general public safe,” Stahl said. “These demonstrations help educate the public about the hazards of electricity and what the cooperative does on a day-to-day basis to ensure safety.”

Effective ways to lower home energy use

Outside factors, such as fuel, equipment costs, and extreme weather, can impact electricity prices. But you have the power to control home energy consumption by taking proactive steps to reduce energy use.

Upcoming LMRE office closures

The LMRE office will be closed on the following dates for employee training. If you need to make a payment, you can pay online via SmartHub: https://lmre.smarthub.coop/Login.html. Thank you for your understanding while we ensure our employees are best equipped to continue providing top-notch service.
