Ice Cream, Get the Full Scoop!
June is National Dairy Month! Celebrate by getting the full scoop on ice cream and identifying the differences between beef and dairy cattle. At the end of the lesson – shake it up for a sweet treat of ice cream in a bag! 
Virtual Summer Mini-Camp
What do the supplies to make a toothbrush, lipstick, and cat food have in common? They all can be found on a farm! Join Nebraska Agriculture in the Classroom for the first Found on the Farm: Virtual Summer Mini-Camp! On July 8, youth ages 8-10 can join education experts on a journey to learn more about their source of food, fiber, and fuel! Youth will engage in hands-on activities with an activity box delivered right to your door. Camp begins at 1:00 p.m. on Zoom with an expert guiding you step-by-step through the resources in your activity box.  

Youth will participate in hands-on activities that encourage learning by: 
  • Participating in a friendly Kahoot! competition to test their knowledge of Nebraska’s number one industry.
  • Identifying the source of common household items.  
  • Discovering the science of plant growth. 
  • Understanding how farm animals in Nebraska are cared for. 
Virtual Teacher Workshop
Discover hands-on, interactive, and virtual learning for students through Nebraska Agriculture in the Classroom! This virtual workshop will feature engaging, PreK-12th grade customizable, core-subject lessons, and instructional strategies that can be immediately implemented into your classroom. Any teacher is welcome to attend at no cost via Zoom. 
Ag Pen Pal Sign Up
Sign up to participate in the 2020-2021 Ag Pen Pal Program ! The program is seeking farmers, ranchers, and classrooms to participate. The Ag Pen Pal Program connects farmers and ranchers with classrooms to help students understand where their food, fiber, and fuel comes from.

Virtual Conference
In lieu of the canceled National Agriculture in the Classroom conference that was to be held in Salt Lake City, UT, the organization is inviting all educators and volunteers to join for a FREE Virtual Summit ! Visit the Virtual Summit website to see a list of workshops offered and register to participate. 
My American Farm
Download the My American Farm app to take off on an adventure to learn more about agriculture! Lesson plans, activity sheets, and comics are also available. 
White-Reinhardt Resource Grants
The American Farm Bureau Foundation is accepting applications for White-Reinhardt Resource Grants . This grant provides funds for educators to purchase agricultural literacy materials through the Ag Foundation online store. Fifty educators will win $100 store credits, and applications are due June 30.
Welcome Hannah!
Hannah Hosick joined the Foundation team as an Education Specialist on June 1. Hannah is a native of Curtis, Nebraska and a May 2020 graduate of Kansas State University with a degree in Agricultural Education.  

Hannah will teach agricultural literacy at festivals and fairs and in classrooms with a focus on the Omaha area. Hannah joins Courtney Schaardt, Director of Outreach Education, and Brooke Tempel, Education Specialist, on the foundation’s programming team.
