Beware of Phishing Emails Sent to Faculty, Staff and Students

ISU's Information Security Team has noted an increase in spam and phishing emails that are bypassing our standard filtering methods and reaching ISU inboxes. We are especially concerned about emails that include "A SPECIAL INVITATION FROM (Name)” in the subject line. These emails are being sent to ISU faculty, staff and students.

While we have successfully blocked most of these emails, we want to warn all ISU users to be cautious and vigilant when receiving unexpected messages. Do not open or click links in suspicious emails and contact the IT Service Desk if you receive anything that looks suspicious.

For more information or questions regarding the spam emails, please contact the IT Service Desk at (208)282-4957 or help@isu.edu.
