Donor Spotlight: Carol Haralson and Ed Wade

This month's featured donors are Carol Haralson and Ed Wade who came on board as new donors during the Library Giving Day campaign. Carol writes, "We've been impressed by the Library since our arrival here in 1995. I’ve especially enjoyed the exhibits, but just walking in through the front door always brings a feeling of calm and well-being." She looks forward to spending more time at the Library as she reduces her professional commitments. Carol and Ed share a life and careers based in museums, books, and museum books! They believe that "A public library is democracy by the linear foot. Where the sum of human experience has a limitless shelf life and is available freely to all." We are so grateful for their generosity and thoughtful care for Sedona's public library.

Neighbors Helping Neighbors

When the Sedona Wish List on June 2 reached out to the community to donate diapers to the Sedona Community Food Bank, Sedona Public Library heeded the call. Even with the bare bones crew currently working at the Library, eight staff members gathered and delivered more than 500 diapers to the Food Bank. Thanks to Sedona Wish List for keeping neighbors informed about how to help neighbors!

Library Grateful for Recent Support

With special support made available during the COVID-19 pandemic, we have or will receive: A "Germbusters Kit" with hand sanitizer, gloves, and disposable masks; Chromebook laptops for our collection; video recording equipment for online programming; and funding for internet extenders to improve internal and external WiFi access. (Supported by the Arizona State Library, Archives & Public Records, a division of the Secretary of State, with federal CARES Act funds from the Institute of Museum and Library Services.) Funding for WiFi hotspots to add to our collection. (Funded by the Arizona  Community Foundation.) Children's books for Youth Services summer programming. (Funded by the Arizona State Library’s Arizona Reading Program.) Thank you!
