The time it takes for regulatory permitting to be completed has long been an issue for Delaware State Chamber of Commerce members. State and local permitting officials point to incomplete plans and documents as one frequent reason for holdup, while applicants point to unclear or conflicting public policies, large backlogs of work awaiting approval, and more.

Positive News This Week

This week the State of Delaware signed an agreement with Gulftainer to run the Port of Wilmington. Under terms of the 50-year deal, Gulftainer has pledged to invest $600 million in upgrades and build a new container-handling terminal on the Delaware at Edgemoor.
