Employment Readiness Survey

The PG Chamber is conducting a survey of businesses and employees to identify employment readiness issues being experienced by companies and their employees in Northern BC.

Existing research has identified five competencies that define the skills needed for employment (workforce readiness). These competencies are the ability to efficiently use (a) resources, (b) interpersonal skills, (c) information, (d) systems, and (e) technology. The purpose of this survey is to identify current areas of concern for employers and employees in these five competencies and, working with high schools and post-secondary institutions in PG (UNBC and CNC) develop strategies for addressing these concerns.

To accomplish this task, we are asking you to take 5 to 10 minutes to answer the following questions.

1 Year Anniversary of the LFTN Partnership Agreement

The Prince George Chamber of Commerce and the Lheidli T’enneh First Nation proudly celebrated the first anniversary of their groundbreaking partnership agreement on June 14th 2023. This historic milestone marks a year of collaboration, trust, and shared vision for a prosperous future.

On November 9, 2021, representatives from the Lheidli T’enneh First Nation, including the Chief and Council, joined the Board of Directors and CEO of the Prince George Chamber of Commerce for a momentous dinner meeting. Recognizing the importance of their relationship, the Chamber Board had previously awarded a Lifetime Membership to the LTFN, signaling their commitment to developing a closer working bond.

United by a shared vision, both parties aimed to cultivate a sustainable environment that would foster a thriving economy and enhance the quality of life for the Lheidli T’enneh First Nation, the City of Prince George, and the wider Central British Columbia region. The Prince George Chamber of Commerce acknowledges its presence on Lheidli T’enneh territory with utmost respect. The Partnership Agreement served as a guide to nurture a proactive and supportive working relationship between the Chamber and the LTFN.
