Dear valued partners and friends,

Warm greetings from Thailand!

When I first moved here from Switzerland, I thought wellness meant escaping routine — a retreat, a reset, a pause. But after many years in Thailand, I’ve learned it’s something deeper. Here, wellness isn’t an activity. It’s a way of living that seeps into everything — the calm of the morning mist, the patience of a shared meal, the quiet generosity of people who seem to carry peace in their being.

Nowhere is that spirit clearer than in the North — especially in Chiang Rai, where the hills roll like soft waves and time seems to stretch a little longer. I’ve always believed this region has its own heartbeat — slower, steadier, and deeply human. This month, our team wanted to capture that rhythm through a journey that blends slow living, spirituality, and simple joy. It’s not about retreating from life; it’s about rediscovering what makes it beautiful.

Kŏr hâi dern taang doi sà-wàt-dì-pâap, happy travels!

Yours,

Stefan

Wellness as Nature Intended

Up here in Chiang Rai, time feels different. The mist doesn’t rush to lift, the wind carries nature's aroma, and the world softens into quiet hues of green and gold. Life feels lighter. The deeper you breathe, the clearer it becomes: this is what it means to truly unwind.

🌿 Day 1 – Arrival & Serenity

Every time I arrive here, I feel my breathing change. The air is lighter here, scented with bamboo and wild herbs. The resort we’ve chosen feels more like a sanctuary than a hotel — wooden cottages tucked into the hillside, with views that seem to quiet the mind on sight.

Travellers usually spend the afternoon exactly how I would — a slow swim overlooking the valley, or tea on the terrace as the sun fades behind the peaks. Dinner is always a highlight: crisp greens picked from the garden that morning, pasta from the wood-fired oven, and freshwater fish seasoned the northern way. Simple, fresh, and full of heart.

🕊️ Day 2 – Spirit & Soil

If there’s one experience I wish everyone could have, it’s the morning alms-giving with the monk on horseback. It’s quiet, almost surreal — the mist still hanging low, the sound of hooves on the path, and a sense of reverence that fills the valley. It’s not staged; it’s part of real life here.

Later, I love joining the resort’s E-tan tractor tour through their tea gardens and farms. You see where everything comes from — the vegetables, the herbs, even the tea you drink at breakfast. Afterward, a Thai oil massage at the spa seems to melt whatever tension you arrived with. By nightfall, a simple dinner shared under lantern light feels like the perfect close.

🍃 Day 3 – Tea & Reflection

On the final morning, we visit one of my favorite places in Chiang Rai — a local tea house run by people who truly live their craft. They’ll show you how they blend herbs and leaves by hand, explaining which teas warm the body and which calm the mind. I always leave with the same thought: wellness here doesn’t come from luxury treatments, but from connection — to people, to land, to life itself.

✨ Why Go? Because in Northern Thailand, wellness isn’t prescribed — it’s practiced in everyday life. It’s in the quiet generosity of strangers, the scent of lemongrass drifting from a garden, and the silence that lingers just long enough for you to hear yourself think again.

🌏 Perfect For: Travellers seeking balance, reflection, and genuine connection — those who value authenticity over extravagance, and who find joy in simplicity done beautifully.
