It's wonderful to see so many of you keeping up with your practice over the summer. Thank you for your loyal support.

We have added another class to our Thursday morning schedule! Please join Kimberly for Hatha at 9:30 a.m. beginning next Thursday, July 26th.

Why are you passionate about wellness?

Two years ago, a neighbour dropped by to say hello and suggested that I might like to try out a Gentle Yoga class at the Bells Corners Community Centre, which is near my home. Although I didn't have a clue what I was getting into, I signed up. Over the weeks, I was introduced to using the breath to bring me back to the present moment, easier variations of yoga poses, and that nothing should hurt. My flexibility and strength improved. I was hooked.

What do you enjoy the most about your experience at Beyond?

Last spring, the Centre announced it wouldn't be offering summer classes. Putting yoga on hold wasn't an option so I explored alternatives. A google search for nearby studios led me to the 'Beyond Yoga Studio and Wellness Centre' and, after mustering enough courage, I walked in to check it out. I was obviously impressed because I signed up and have been coming back almost on a daily basis since then. The studio is ideally designed for yoga: open, spacious and spotlessly clean. However, it's the people - the staff, the teachers and members - that make Beyond Yoga special. Every time I've walked through the front door the staff have greeted me with a heartwarming smile(s) and made me feel welcomed. The teachers bring their unique style to each class, the prep work they do to make their classes special is obvious, and their passion for yoga is highly contagious. And last, but not least, I've met many new friends with whom to share stories and laughter. 

I find yoga an amazing practice for the mind, body and soul, and wish that I had discovered it many, many years ago. It provides me with an opportunity to practice mindfulness, has helped me improve my flexibility, balance and overall body strength. I have more energy, sleep better and feel less stressed. And, as noted earlier, I've met many like-minded people that have become dear friends. No, yoga will not make me "...forever young" (sorry Carole), but I have no doubt that it will help me age more gracefully. Namaste

Strawberry Peach Yogurt Popsicles
Serves : 8

Beat the heat with these refreshing frozen treats made with real fruit,
Greek yogurt and honey!

3 cups strawberries
3 cups peaches, peeled and sliced
2 tbsp honey
⅔ cup full-fat Greek yogurt (note: you can use lower fat yogurt in this recipe, but you will get icy popsicles as opposed to creamy ones)
