The unexpected ways that IMPACT 211 helps

While the majority of contacts to IMPACT 211 in 2024 were from individuals and families seeking help with essential needs like food, shelter, and utility assistance, our work continues to reveal the full spectrum of challenges faced in our community. Last year, we answered calls for support that extended well beyond the basics—highlighting just how varied and complex life’s obstacles can be. From connecting people with resources for appliances and furniture, to helping them find pet care assistance, caregiver respite services, and even burial and funeral support, IMPACT 211 serves as a lifeline for needs that often go unseen.

These are some examples of less common requests to serve as reminders that stability looks different for everyone, and access to the right support at the right time can make all the difference.

Payne named among 2025 Women of Influence recipients

Congratulations to Dr. Kimberly Payne, IMPACT board chairwoman, for being recognized as a Milwaukee Business Journal 2025 Woman of Influence.

The Women of Influence class of 2025 includes prominent business and community leaders from throughout southeastern Wisconsin who are making the Milwaukee area a better place to live and work.

Kimberly is the founder and co-owner of Payne Consulting which specializes in engaging community members to enhance awareness, amplify community voices, and develop community-informed strategies. She joined IMPACT's board in 2019 and became chairwoman in 2024.

It's the 24th year the Milwaukee Business Journal has recognized Milwaukee's most influential women. This year's winners will be honored at an awards event on June 18 and featured in a special section of the publication on June 20.
