Staying involved in the Bloomington/Normal area, and beyond.
Where do you fit... Beyond the Bricks?

Welcome... to the latest issue of
Beyond the Bricks!

Merry Christmas!
Christmas, the celebration of Jesus' birth, is only a couple of weeks away. Our celebration at First Christian includes two Christmas Eve services, 5:00PM and 7:30PM. I hope you're planning to invite a family member, neighbor, or friend to join you at one of these festive services. That's one way we can share the good news of Christmas.
We can also share the good news of Christmas by giving ourselves to others, by giving generously of our time, talents, and treasure. Someone needs you. What will you give this Christmas season?
There are many opportunities in this issue of Beyond the Bricks for helping others. Perhaps you'll find something that you can do to make a difference in someone's life.
Have a blessed Christmas,
Jim Warren

Support Toys for Tots of McLean County
Toy Drives:
December 13, 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. - Applebees
December 14, 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. - Gingerbread House
December 14, 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. - Clothes Mentor
December 15, 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. - Walmart on Veterans Parkway

The mission of the Toys for Tots Program is to collect new, unwrapped toys during October, November, and December each year, and distribute those toys as Christmas gifts to less fortunate children in the community.
McLean County Toys for Tots was affiliated with the drive based with the "Charlie Company" Marine Reserve Unit in Peoria Illinois. However in McLean County the drive was run by a group of dedicated volunteers made up of local businesses and retired Marines. Prior to Christmas 2000, it was decided that the McLean County drive would apply to the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation to be an independent campaign or Local Community Organization. That designation was granted, and for over 16 years McLean County Toys for Tots has worked to make sure children in need in our community would have a brighter Christmas.

We are looking for 4-5 people every month. I was wondering if you would have any members of the church who would like to come do some volunteer child care for us. Thank you.
