 Happy Valentine's Day!
Happy Heart Day! I know it's cold and dreary out, (at least it was when I started this article) so grab the ones you love and give them a big smooch! This is a great opportunity to spread the LOVE!
 Did you know?
Jewelry is the most popular Valentine's Day gift: 20 percent of consumers are expected to buy jewelry, spending a total of $4.3 billion, the NRF said.

**You see that everyone. Time to visit the jewelry store!

Groundhog Day
Groundhog Day is Friday February 2nd. I know we are all hoping he does not see his shadow and that spring is just around the corner. If he does see it, we will have to brace ourselves for this winter weather to continue. Of course, we are more fortunate in our area of the country. We are not covered in snow and ice (although I'm sure Tahoe would like some more snow). Rest assured that if the Grouundhog does see his shadow, he's only right 39% of the time ;)

Have all of you seen the movie Groundhog Day with Bill Murray? How many of us can relate? I know I can. Right now, I feel like I am living 6th Grade boys basketball games over and over ;)

Here's hoping for an early spring!!

Super Bowl LII
Sunday February 4th, 2018 is Super Bowl LII. It starts at 3:30pm PST and is on NBC.

It is the Philadelphia Eagles vs. The New England Patriots and will be held in Minneapolis, MN.

Justin Timberlake is doing the half time show! He should be great!

Recipe of the Month
Need a new recipe for Game Day? Try out this Hot Wing Dip from BHG.
Hot Wing Dip
Makes: 10 servings
Makes: 2 tablespoons dip and 4 celery pieces
Prep Time: 15 minutes
Slow Cook: 3 hrs to 4 hrs (LOW)

  • 8 ounces reduced-fat cream cheese (Neufchatel), cut up
  • 1/4 - 1/2 cup bottled Buffalo wing sauce
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons bottled reduced-calorie blue cheese salad dressing
  • 1 cup chopped cooked chicken breast
  • 1 stalk celery, finely chopped (1/2 cup)
  • 1 fresh jalapeno chile pepper, seeded and minced*
  • 20 stalks celery, halved crosswise

  1. In a 1 1/2-quart slow cooker combine cream cheese, wing sauce, dressing, chicken, finely chopped celery, and jalapeno pepper.
  2. Cover and cook on low-heat setting for 3 to 4 hours. If no heat setting is available, cook for 3 hours. Serve with celery pieces.

Test Kitchen Tip:

Because chile peppers contain volatile oils that can burn your skin and eyes, avoid direct contact with them as much as possible. When working with chile peppers, wear plastic or rubber gloves. If your bare hands do touch the peppers, wash your hands and nails well with soap and warm water.

Real Estate News
With the start of a new year, there are always new decorating trends emerging. This year is all about ceilings! I read a great article on HGTV that inspired me to re-think my ceilings. Generally, I would say just roll a fresh coat of paint across the ceiling and call it done. However, people are getting creative and these ideas are amazing! Thank you HGTV for the inpiration!
