Dear AZFP Family,
One of the most valuable lessons I learned came from my father, a general surgeon and one of the finest physicians I’ve ever known. While assisting him in the operating room during my training, I asked what makes a good surgeon truly great. His answer was simple: attention to detail.
That lesson extended far beyond the operating room. Growing up, I remember planning trips to the mall with my father. What should have been a quick errand often turned into an afternoon, as patient after patient would stop to share updates about their lives, their families, and their health. Those moments reflected what defined his career: he made people feel seen, heard, and genuinely cared for.
That same philosophy has guided me throughout my career in Otolaryngology and Facial Plastic Surgery. In facial aesthetics, it is often the smallest refinements—the subtle details—that create the most natural and beautiful results. Equally important are the details of the patient experience, from a warm welcome to thoughtful follow-up care. We strive to ensure that every patient feels valued, supported, and cared for every step of the way.
This Father’s Day, I am grateful for the wisdom my father shared and the lasting impact it continues to have on the care we provide every day.
Warmly,
Farhan Taghizadeh
