President's Message
Jeff Bader's sudden passing on April 4, 2019 dealt a difficult blow to all of us at the Association of Bi-State Motor Carriers, particularly myself, Executive Director Dick Jones, and the members of our Executive Board. Jeff's commitment and dedication to our organization was unmatched. While his presence in our industry and the impact he had will be felt for a long time, it is his loyal friendship, his diplomacy, and his ever-present willingness to step up and assist others in any way he could that I will miss the most.

I'm honored that the Executive Board has chosen me to lead the organization going forward, and I pledge to carry on Jeff's legacy of strong leadership, dedicated service, and effective advocacy on behalf of the motor carriers who call on the Port of NY & NJ.

Thank you to everyone who attended our Memorial Service for Jeff on April 9th (see below), and to all those who sent messages of sympathy, support, and encouragement during this difficult time.

Remembering Bi-State President Jeffrey A. Bader
Jeffrey Alan Bader
Sept. 4 1955 - April 4, 2019
On April 4, 2019, the Association of Bi-State Motor Carriers lost a valuable member of our team: Jeffrey A. Bader, who served eight consecutive terms as our organization’s President since the Bi-State’s formation in 2002, passed away unexpectedly after a sudden medical event.

In lieu of our April General Meeting, the Executive Board hosted a Memorial Service to honor and celebrate Jeff’s life. More than 100 Bi-State members and stakeholders throughout the port community gathered in Newark, along with Jeff’s family, to remember the many contributions that he made to the intermodal trucking community. Speakers included First Vice President Tom Heimgartner, Zach McCue (aide to Senator Cory Booker), NJ State Assemblyman Bob Auth (District 39), Deputy Port Directory Beth Rooney of the PANYNJ, and Chris Rotondo of the FMCSA.
