Month of Peninit Year 412
Biasse! (Greetings),
We at The Earth Center wish you good health and strength. As always, we are committed to the preservation and upliftment of the traditions of our ancestors. Our mission is to reclaim and uphold these traditions. We seek to live our lives by these traditions and raise our children within them. In our schools throughout the US, we have recently opened up the doors for new students to join the initiation into these traditional values. The Medu language class is the cornerstone of the initiation. The language brings with it many concepts that we have no words for in English. The concepts are vital for building our understanding about the world around us and even how we understand ourselves. If we have no words to express these concepts, how will we be able to understand them? This is the power of language that is rarely considered by those of us who only speak one language. We invite all seekers of knowledge and human quality to visit an Earth Center closest to you to sit in on one of the new classes to experience it for yourself. Contact information is listed below. May your ancestors put good things in your path and may the Gods give their approval.

 Message from The Maakheru
"If the Medu language is eliminated from the world, it will become hopeless for communicating concepts. It exposes humanity's origins; the Medu is where the secrets are. Medu helps a human to stay away from corruption. It helps to express the reality."
|
By Patricia Jordan
Language is a fundamental aspect of our human existence. It is how we express concepts, ideas, thoughts, and feelings. It is how information and news is disseminated and how traditions are passed on from generation to generation. It is also a tool used to understand our place in existence and where we come from. Because of the colonial world that we live in, most people don't realize that humanity was gifted a pure language from the Divine World - one that we can use to think and communicate clearly and assist us on our spiritual path. This is the Medu language. Medu is the first language of humanity given to human beings by the Neteru (Gods) during a time when we were existing in a very low and barbaric state. This gift of language and writing assisted us in stepping out of barbarism and gave us a tool to use our logics. Unfortunately we have lost our connection to the Medu language and instead, adopted the English language - the language of colonizers and slave masters.
It wasn't until starting the M'TAM initiation at The Earth Center that I really grasped how language can either be used to assist one on the spiritual path and in understanding existence, or it can hinder and be used to confuse and disorient. I have spoken English my entire life. It is the language I have utilized to try to understand who I am and why I am here. I now see how limited my view of life has been by utilizing English to form my world. By studying the Medu language and tracing the history I began to uncover the depths of the colonial conditioning of my mind.
The English language consists of 26 letters, which can be learned in a short amount of time by children as young as two years old, while the Medu language has over 400 sounds and that is just on the first level. I've learned in my initiation that it can take someone well over 30 years to master the Medu language. English is a language full of contradictions and phrases that don't make sense and only come to confuse the brain and hinder one's thinking. In English you can use the word "bad" to convey something that you think is negative or something that you think is positive. We can say things like, "head over heels in love" but what does that really mean? It doesn't make any sense because isn't your head always over your heels? These are just a couple of the many examples of self-contradicting words and phrases we say every day. I realized that English, with all of its limitations, is what I have been using to define my existence and I recognized that if I utilize the language of my colonizer to define and understand the world, then what will my world look like?
The beauty of Medu is that it is a language that is built on clear concepts, so there is no place for phrases or things that don't make sense. It is a pure language so there is no room for corruption. By practicing Medu I challenge myself to think and speak clearly and take more time in developing my thoughts and words. This is an important tool and an important lesson to learn because this modern society is dependent upon people not thinking. It is dependent on us being lazy in our minds so we won't question anything that is going on around us.
I now understand that the keys to my enlightenment are in the Medu language. I used to think of Medu with fascination and wonderment. It was something I viewed as part of an ancient civilization - pictures on pyramid walls and other monuments. It is actually a Divine language, given to us by the Divine World, so there is no expiration. Medu is still a living language. Master Naba said the sun never sets, it is man who moves away from the light. Medu is a light to assist me in raising my quality and finding the path back to the origins of humanity.

The Earth Center Presents:
M'TAM GRADUATION
The Wasseker Generation
Congratulations to Meramsu Wasseker (formerly known as Robert Holloway IIII) on completing the Per Ankh level of his initiation. This journey for Meramsu has not been easy, it has taken him three years to complete the first level of initiation, and he is the only one of a generation that began with 13 to graduate. The road ahead of Meramsu is challenging and full of obstacles but his initiation in the M'TAM School of Kemetic Philosophy and Spirituality has provided him the tools to meet these challenges with integrity, fortitude and intelligence. Meramsu's generational name Wasseker means, Scepter of the Neter Seker and Meramsu means Brave Man of the Neter Amsu. The Earth Center family wishes Meramsu Wasseker strength and courage to continue on in the traditions of his ancestors.

The Maakheru, Master Naba Lamoussa Morodenibig takes us back to Kemet Land in this clip from his lecture on the Sidereal Calendar and Time Division. He breaks down the origins of the clock, the orientation of the Earth in the universe and the primitive system of time division used by European Culture. From this clip, it is clear where the science of astronomy originated.

The 77 Commandments: Reclaiming Ancestral Traditions
"It's not what you do but what you don't do." This is a quote from Neb Naba Lamoussa Morodenibig that I heard many years ago. At that point in my maturation, I could not fully understand what this meant or what it would come to mean for my life. I've always considered myself to be a person who followed the rules set by those in authority. However, after coming into contact with The Earth Center and the M'TAM Schools, I realized how little I knew about living a life with clearly defined boundaries, not set by man but set by The Divine World - The World of the Neteru (Gods).
Here at the M'TAM School of Kemetic Philosophy and Spirituality, we seek to live our lives in accordance to the 77 Commandments - The Code of Human Behavior. It is through living our lives according to this code we learn our place within the existence. We learn what to do and what not to do. The 77 Commandments were given to humanity during a period in our human history when we were steeped in barbarism and living our lives without a goal. The Neteru saw this and asked what we wanted, what was our goal as human beings? We said that we wanted a world like theirs, which meant we wanted to live lives of purity, lives that focused on evolving into people of good quality. Thus, humanity was presented with the 77 Commandments by the Neter (God) Tehuti. We refer to this day as the Day of Tehuti, the day when humanity was given the blueprint on how to live our lives in a way that brings us closer to the Divine World.
In order to adhere to this code of discipline, it requires a true commitment to spirituality. It is necessary to make efforts to commit all 77 Commandments to memory, otherwise it would be nearly impossible to insure that no Commandments have been broken in the course of a day. Also, each night when sitting quietly assessing how the day has played out, it is good to allow The Commandments to guide self assessment processes. I like many others, have been exposed to a society that is built upon intentional omission of truth and because of this, I have found myself ignorant to the realities of existence. Instead of focusing on my spirituality, I focused on getting a degree so that I could get a job to pay off the debt from the degree and at some point get a house, car and live my life with 2.5 children. This way of living is very far away from what the reality is for human beings. And because we are unaware of the true reality, we think that we can live our lives any way we feel. Living a life according to The Commandments is a commitment that each of us makes because we understand that living a life according to The Commandments will help us transform our lives by protecting the pure within each of us.
Before I was exposed to the teachings of the The Earth Center, I thought that my battle was against my neighbor, a group of people or a political party, however I have learned that the true battle between the forces of evil and good is within me. It is a fight every moment to protect the good because I encounter many distractions each day, and have many different things to come into my sphere of awareness that bring about certain feelings. And to protect the good or the pure that is within you, you follow The Commandments. Following The Commandments can be difficult because we have Commandments such as Thou Shall Not Get Angry or Thou Shall Not Be Impatient. How many times in a day do you get angry, how many times do you act with impatience? Many times, right? Yes. Therefore, if I succumb to my emotions or distractions, I have put down The Commandments to focus on something else, thus I have lost the battle of protecting my purity.
The Earth Center has provided me the necessary tools to learn how to live my life within the bounds of The Commandments. Here I have learned how to purify my body, honor my ancestors, become a logical/rational thinker and a vanguard of my ancestral traditions. In no way at this point in my initiation have I fully grasped the in-depth meaning of each Commandment, nor have I gone a day without breaking one. For me, this shows just how challenging it can be for the human being to live a life of purity. However, this is no excuse to do bad or evil things. It must still be my goal to progress on my path to enlightenment, which is only possible if I allow The Commandments to be my foundation.

The Sidereal Calendar Year 412,
Seventy Seven Commandments: Divine Code of Human Behavior The Rising Firefly Issue Volume 62
Ablutions and Zemzem Instructional Booklet All for $25
(promotion ends July 31, 2013) These products will help the seeker to understand the important role that our ancestors play in our lives. They also include detailed instructions for how to perform our daily spiritual activities and offerings. The Sidereal Calendar provides the most favorable days for offerings and spiritual activities.
The Sidereal Calendar is humanity's oldest and most astronomically correct calendar. This calendar is also an essential guide for the M'TAM spiritual initiate because it includes the traditional Kemetic Holy Days and the appropriate days to perform spiritual activities and to make offerings to Ancestors and the Divine World. The Sidereal Calendar is based on 3 cycles: the seasonal year of 365/366 days, the medium year of 1461 days (4 seasonal years), and the great year of 1461 seasonal years. It was used during the times of the Pharaohs and it successfully links the individual to his or her heritage and culture by revealing divisions of time accurately. The Sidereal Calendar features the original names of months and days of the week, as well as the original traditional Holy Days, not political "holidays." Presently, we are in the 5th month of the 412th year of the Sidereal Calendar (it has been 412 years since the last full cycle of the Sirius star). The Culture of the Kem (Kemetic person) remains the model for all subsequent cultures throughout history. As humanity's first civilization, it remains without equal for its accomplishments in all fields of what we now call science, culture, and spirituality. The foremost focus of the Kemetic society is upon the quality of the individual. Each individual is educated with the tools to contain his barbaric tendencies with the goal of rising towards the Divine World from where he finds his origin.
The core concepts that are at the foundation of Kemetic Culture and personal refinement are highlighted within this year's calendar. These concepts are presented with quotes from the The Earth Center's founder, Master Naba Lamoussa Morodenibig who reintroduced the Sidereal Calendar. Each quote is accompanied with a photo by Isadore Howard taken during the Earth Center's annual pilgrimage to Merita (Africa). We wish that the reader be inspired by this building block of human civilization and finds it useful as a tool in the quest for knowledge.
Seventy Seven Commandments: Divine Code of Human Behavior
The Seventy Seven Commandments is the blueprint for insuring quality for the individual and all of humanity. These commandments were given to humanity from the Divine World during a time when human beings were steeped in barbarism and were looking for a better way to live their lives. The 77 commandments serve as the tool to help the seeker model themselves after the Divine World-The World of the Gods and build a world of quality--a world we wish to see for ourselves and our descendants.
