The students at God Cares High School are so excited for their upcoming Bible camp during the summer term break. We are grateful for the Calvary Community Church Young Adult group team that has stepped up to partner with the spiritual leadership team at God cares School in Uganda, led by Glory Dongo, to help run the camp. The Calvary Westlake team is ready to challenge and encourage the students to walk with the Lord at school, at home, and in their communities, while learning to live authentically as followers of Christ.

The camp of over 500 students will include intensive and intentional discipleship with a deep dive into God’s holiness, along with His desire to have an intimate relationship with His followers. Campers will explore how God desires to heal, restore, and impart His holiness to us as His children. There will also be small-group interactions and projects, along with fun breakout classes such as sports, leadership, Beauty and Self-Care, worship, instruments, and dance.



Bible camp has always been an important part of the God Cares program and a highlight for many children who are growing up in difficult situations in the slums and small villages of Uganda. For many students, camp becomes a place where they encounter the love of God in a very personal way and build friendships and memories that stay with them for years to come.

Just $50 will cover a child’s fees for the week-long camp and provide them with a Bible journal they can keep and look back on for years to come.

Just like students in the U.S., the college application process takes time. Students who graduated at the end of December are awaiting acceptance into universities and trade schools. They have all completed high school, taken their final exams, and chosen the higher-learning path they hope to pursue.

If you sponsor one of these students, you may soon receive a phone call from our office because classes will be starting soon! We will let you know when your sponsorship begins going toward college fees, and if we know the student’s intended course of study, we will share that with you as well.



Most universities and trade schools require the equivalent of three regular sponsorships per month. If a sponsor is able to help with this $120 monthly plan, it would make a tremendous difference. However, even if a sponsor remains at the current $40 monthly level, it still provides an important start toward continuing a student’s education.

Current Numbers

• 40 God Cares High School graduates are currently awaiting acceptance into their university or trade school of choice.

• 130 students are currently in the sponsorship program at the higher education level.

If you know your student is in this category, please let us know how you would like to move forward in your partnership. Some sponsors may choose to continue supporting their student through higher education, while others may wish to begin sponsoring a younger child. The choice is yours.

Some sponsors have even chosen to sponsor university students in honor of a loved one.

Whatever path a sponsor chooses, every sponsorship changes a life, and the impact multiplies with each gift. Thank you for your kindness toward these students and for standing in the gap for them at every stage of life.
