Rare Scarecrow Wine Vertical 2012-2016

Add 5 rare bottles of Scarecrow to your collection. One 750 ml bottle each from vintage 2012-2016. One of Napa Valley’s most talked about Cult Cabs. Only 400 cases of the 100% Cabernet Sauvignon are produced each year, no surprise given that the estate includes just 25 acres of vineyards. Described as “perfectly balanced”, “prodigiously rich”, and “utterly perfect” by Robert Parker, these five vintages are among the best the fabled estate has ever produced. The barrel aging program for Scarecrow is unique. The wine of Scarecrow is aged in 90% new, French oak barrels for 12 months. At that point, the wine is returned to tanks for blending, which is followed by an additional 10 months of aging in barrel.

This small production wine is difficult to find and expensive. But it is a unique, tactile style of California Cabernet Sauvignon that is worth the effort to seek out. Ratings: 2012 (95 WS, 98 RP), 2013 (95 WS, 100 RP),  2014 ( 95 WS, 100 RP), 2015 (96 WS, 99 RP), and 2016 (94 WS, 100 RP)
