Biden Asks Congress to Intervene on Possible Rail Strike

Days are running short for the nation’s railway workers and freight rail carriers to come to an agreement in order to avert a rail strike that would cripple transportation of goods. December 8 is the deadline, although some groups say they will begin preparing for a halt in rail traffic days before. Bovine thrombotic meningoencephalitis (TEM), formerly known as thromboembolic meningoencephalitis (TEME), is a neurological disease, primarily of feedlot cattle between the ages of 6 to 12 months. In the case of TEM, it is thought the organism gains entry to the body through the respiratory tract before moving into the nervous system. Onset of disease can range from acute death without premonitory signs to chronic disease.

Flying by the Numbers

It’s Monday morning at Kirkland Feed Yard in Vega, Texas, and Robby Kirkland has plenty on his to-do list. He looks over his show list for the week and orders head counts on those pens. But it’s not a task he bothers his cowboy crew with. They are busy riding pens, doctoring and putting up go-homes. Instead, he’ll have those numbers shortly thanks to the feed yard’s drone.
