Vice President Mike Pence and Sen. Kamala Harris
The University of Utah,
Salt Lake City, Utah
This week’s debate between Vice President Pence and Sen. Kamala Harris (Calif.), the Democratic vice presidential nominee, will take place as scheduled after President Trump tested positive for the coronavirus early Friday.
The Commission on Presidential Debates has agreed to seat Kamala Harris and Mike Pence 12 feet apart at the vice presidential debate next week, after the Biden campaign raised health and safety objections to the original spacing between the two candidates because of Covid concerns. Both Pence and Harris announced Friday morning that they had tested negative for COVID-19.
The University of Utah, which will host the debate, said that it will mandate that every person wear a mask inside the security perimeter "at all times" during the debate except for Pence, Harris and the debate's moderator, Susan Page of USA Today.
Live Streaming – All the major news networks will offer a free live stream as will YouTube and Twitter.
TV Channels – Each debate will be broadcast live on C-SPAN, ABC, CBS, FOX, and NBC, as well as all cable news channels including CNN, Fox News, Fox Business Network, and MSNBC among others.

Text messaging has begun and phone banks continue
|
|
So many Democrats have signed up to vote by mail — but we need your help to remind them to fill their ballots out and send it in! This is a statewide text bank that will also send Democrats voting by mail their personalized #SunshineSlate☀️ Democratic voting guides so November can bring victories up and down the entire ballot!
Since September 27, Democrats are texting voters each day from 11 AM - 8 PM. Volunteers can join the shift and help text voters at any time — and strongly encourage that you join our daily kick-off Zoom meeting for special instructions with the FDP Training Director BEFORE you begin texting!

Phone calls continue for Vote by Mail
There is a script for making calls to encourage Democrats to vote by mail on the Florida Democratic Party website. If you click on www.floridadems.org/phone-banking/ then click on the box for St. Johns County, you will see the new script and can begin making calls. Be sure to familiarize yourself with the script before you begin as you may wish to rephrase it in a way more natural to you
If you have not previously made calls, you may have to create an Action ID in order to participate. You can set one up yourself by following the instructions on the website. If you have a problem, don't hesitate to contact Diane Abell at: zinkadoodle@gmail.com or 904-827-3456 to walk you through the process.
And you will need to know the telephone number of the St. Johns Supervisor of Elections Office when making the calls: 904-823-2238.
Registered voters can also sign up online for vote by mail, or to view their voter information at: votesjc.com and by clicking on the My Voter Status button.
