Kendra Scott
Greetings Area 12!
We have some important information to share with you!

Read on!

Biennial Meeting
The Biennial Meeting of the Area 12 membership will take place on Saturday, July 2 at 11:30 am in a hybrid format. If you are attending Bells on the Beach in San Clemente, or are in the San Clemente area, you can attend in person at Our Savior's Lutheran Church located at 200 Avenida San Pablo, San Clemente. We will also hold the meeting over Youtube Live for anyone not able to attend in person, with board members moderating the chat window and passing your questions on to those in attendance. Here is the Youtube link for the Biennial Meeting.
Adopt a Bell Fundraiser
Bells on the Beach will feature a fundraiser, entitled Adopt-A-Bell.
Your donations will go to support the mission of Area 12, including education and scholarships. We have created our own set of bells, 66 of them!, that need a good home. During the event, as the bells are adopted, they will be put on display. After the event is over you get to take your bell and your certificate of adoption home with you. The prices are as follows:

  • XL - C3-B3: $100
  • L - C4-C#5: $75
  • M - D5-G6: $50
  • S - Ab6-C8: $25

Talk to your handbell friends and pool your money to adopt one of the bells (or an entire octave!) in the name of your church or community group.

If all the bells are adopted, another set will be created.
Area 12 is making this fundraiser available to those not in attendance as well! You can go to the fundraiser website and donate the specific amount for the bell you would like to adopt. The website asks you to list “Why is this cause important to you?” In this box, please indicate which bell you would like to purchase, and what name you would like on the bell (your name, a group name, etc.) If the specified bell has already been purchased, then we will make every effort to give you a bell as close as we can to the bell specified. The bells will be displayed during the Bells on the Beach conference and after the event your bell, your adoption certificate, and an exclusive Bells on the Beach sticker will be mailed to you.
You do not have to be located in Area 12 to adopt one of our bells.

If you have any questions, please connect with Chair Elect Marci Nuoffer at chairelect.area12@handbellmusicians.org

Elections

We were hoping to have an election ready to go for you this month, but we are still in need of one more candidate to run for Secretary. If you or someone you know is interested, please contact Past Chair Scott Leggett at pastchair.area12@handbellmusicians.org. Serving on the Area 12 Board is a great way to give back to your handbell community!

See you in San Clemente!

Teachers: Would you like the use of a three octave set of handbells or handchimes to add interest and a new dimension to your music class?

Area 12 encourages schools and other educational institutions, both public and private, to develop educational programs using handbells and handchimes.

To support the development of such programs, Area 12 has six 3-octave sets of handbells and three 3-octave sets of handchimes for loan.
