BIG ANNOUNCEMENT

A Message from Nassan’s Place, president & founder, Nadine Wright- Arbubakrr:

Words cannot express how Proud, Grateful, Honored, Happy and Excited I am to share that my daughter, Niya Wright, is making her writing debut today on Season 3 of Netflix’s amazing animated series, Ada Twist, Scientist.

This incredible show is co-produced by Netflix, Chris Nee, (creator of Doc McStuffins) and the Obamas’ Higher Ground Productions.

The first episode Niya chose to write about is titled “A Wheel with a Twist” and is personal as it introduces a non-verbal character on the Autism spectrum named Nassan, inspired by her brother who is the inspiration for Nassan’s Place (https://www.nassansplace.org/) and her mom, me, as Auntie Nadine.

This episode beautifully educates about Autism and more specifically about a nonverbal child on the spectrum which we don’t see much representation for in television and film today.

Nassan’s sounds are portrayed by Justice Killebrew, an awesome and nonverbal young actor on the autism spectrum. And Auntie Nadine is voiced by the beautiful and talented Yvette Nicole Brown.

THANK YOU, THANK YOU Netflix, Chris Nee, Showrunner Kerri Grant, The Obamas, Higher Ground Productions and everyone from the awesome and amazing crew and staff for spreading Autism Awareness and giving my daughter the opportunity to live her dreams.

Please go and stream, stream, stream the new season 💙💙💙

10 Year Anniversary Celebration &

Annual Community Appreciation Gala

Greetings:

On behalf of Nassan’s Place, I would like to thank you for your continued support of helping us enrich and make a difference in the lives of children and families affected by Autism in and around under-served inner-city communities.

Ten years ago, I embarked on a journey and started a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization inspired by my own son, Nassan, who was diagnosed with Autism over 16 years ago. Little did I know that day, my life would change forever and that of the lives of countless other children and families affected by Autism.

Through the support and help of caring and compassionate individuals, organizations and corporations like you and others, Nassan’s Place is bringing Help, Hope, Opportunity and Acceptance to children and families affected by Autism.

I am very excited to share that Nassan’s Place will be celebrating our “10 Year Anniversary Celebration & Annual Community Appreciation Gala” on Thursday, September 29, 2022, at the Galloping Hill Golf Club in Kenilworth, NJ from 6 pm – 10 pm.

It will be an unforgettable and inspirational evening of Autism Awareness, great food, open bar, silent auction, surprises, and more as we honor some amazing individuals, organizations, and corporations who have helped us  make a difference in the lives of children and families affected by Autism.

This event will serve as our biggest fundraiser of the year. A portion of the proceeds from this event will help fund a complete renovation of the building that was gifted to Nassan’s Place by Newark Mayor Ras J. Baraka and the City of Newark.

It is our hope that you would consider being a sponsor, purchase a ticket, and/ or place an ad in our journal.
