BALLROOM BUZZ September 9, 2019

We are back to dancing this week with a packed full schedule! We are so grateful that once again we missed the full impact of a hurricane and very sorrowful for our Caribbean neighbors. We will start Thursday's dance with a Salsa lesson by Ines Guarina at 5:30 and then the Starduster Big Band will perform. If you have not submitted your RSVP for this week, please do so as it helps us plan for set up. Your food contributions for the community table are appreciated (and you always bring such a nice variety)!

Our first Youth Dance Lab session on Saturday was so much fun! It's a small group but they are really excited and had a great time! Classes are on Saturday mornings at 10:30 am at the J. Bryan Floyd Recreation Center in North Myrtle Beach. Instructors Juan and Jada Gonzalez are teaching Shag, Cha-Cha and Salsa during the first six week session. We are looking for a few more girls to fill in our group. We are hoping this will be an ongoing program so if you know of anyone that might be interested, please have them contact Charlene.

Free lessons at Brunswick Senior Resource Center Start Monday! Our free lessons for seniors will be resuming on September 9th at 1 pm. Sal Teta and his dance partner Peggy Keller will once again be teaching these classes every Monday afternoon. Thank you Sal and Peggy for for your dedication to this initiative and helping BDPS promote the many wonderful physical, mental and social benefits of ballroom dancing. We are looking forward to seeing those who took the break from dancing this summer and many new faces too. The Brunswick Senior Resource Center is located at 10050 Beach Drive in Calabash, NC. Please arrive 10 minutes early to allow time to register yourself with the Senior Center at the front desk.

MEMBER ONLY PARTY COMING UP ON OCTOBER 13TH We hope all of our new members, as well as our old ones will come out on this October afternoon at the Barefoot Resort Residence Club and get to know each other. We have the Tidewater Jazz band playing, there is always a lot of food and just a nice time socializing. It's for our members only and it's FREE. If you have been thinking of becoming a member, there is still time to join and participate in this fun event.
