The Big Blind Friday Ep.13

Hey Owen,

It's Friday, which means a new episode of Big Blind Friday! We're on our 13th episode! We got great feedback from all you guys regarding the newsletter (so much that Biz hasn't gotten around to replying to everyone HA!).

As such, we're going to take what you guys have said and implement it. Also, at the end of this month there will be a post on the website where you'll be able to view all the episodes of "Big Blind Friday" (so they're easier to access at any point).

So, without further ado, here are the 5 things we felt were worth sharing this week!

📚 1. Robot Performs Magic @TED-Talks

Have you ever seen a magician and a robot performing magic together? Well, you can, now.

I've stumbled on a research paper that describes how a group of scientists together with a magician designed a robot that could perform magic.

💥 2. ANIFEX Has Replied

One month ago I contacted ANIFEX, the animation company behind "Sleight of Hand", a stop motion animation depicting a magician, to see if they could offer me a viewing of their film (their movies are reserved only for festivals, so it was a long shot). Well, Richard, the boss, replied yesterday and sent me the movie (after getting 3 emails from us hahaha) ! Review coming shortly !

📼 3. Micro Documentary by Asi Wind

Asi Wind made a documentary about Mario The Maker Magician (the guy that created the cardboard robot magician).

Honestly, it's such an inspiring piece. Would love to see more micro-documentaries like this one.

🎭 4. Pen and Teller Video Game

Ever wanted to play as Pen and Teller in a video game? Throw cards at people and magicians? Well, there is a game like that or there was one.

You can check out gameplay of it here. The game also performed tricks for you at certain points. You can read about the tricks here.

📹 5. Magicians Life in the Impossible

This one I discovered recently and I want to give it a watch. It's a documentary that follows four magicians as they explore what their lives are like on and off the stage, their humble beginnings, and their grandest performances. I like what I saw and it's only $3.99 to rent on Youtube.
