American Pharmacies Benefits Program Update: A New Employee Benefits Solution for 2026

For the past six years, the APRx MEWA Benefits Program has provided independent pharmacies with access to stronger, more affordable benefits. Many pharmacies reported savings of up to 50% in the first year, and together we built a program that consistently outperformed market trends.



We are grateful for our members who participated and for their contributions that made the APRx MEWA program successful. After reviewing the long-term outlook and alternative solutions for benefits for our pharmacy members, we have found a new direction for the benefits program, effective January 1, 2026.

The Next Chapter: Partnership with Invictus

Starting in 2026, APRx is partnering with Invictus Group Benefits, a benefits consulting company that has developed solutions for community pharmacies like yours. Invictus will work directly with each APRx pharmacy to identify their best benefits option.


  • Each pharmacy will receive tailored plan options instead of a single group structure.
  • Invictus offers three flexible solutions tailored for APRx members:
  • Individual Plans: Fully customized, on and off-exchange options.
  • ICHRA Plans: Giving employees choice while controlling your budget.
  • Alternate Healthcare Solutions: Creative plan designs and pass-through pharmacy benefit management that reduce costs while improving benefits.


Invictus is confident they can deliver better plan options at reduced costs for APRx pharmacies beginning in 2026. All APRx pharmacy members will have the opportunity to participate in the new program and receive a quote that could lead to a reduction in your store’s health benefit premiums.
