"In the demanding realm of today’s work environment, leader and their teams often grapple with relentless change, fluctuating workloads, and evolving rules and regulations. This ever-shifting landscape can foster stress, burnout, employee turnover, and disengagement. The sanctity of pausing emerges as essential—not just as a tool to rejuvenate productivity, but also as a driver of innovation and positive mental well-being. Navigate past the hurdles of fear, fatigue, and dwindling motivation, and rediscover the essence of an engaged, supportive, and energized workplace." - Tim Richardson

effective starting June 1st

Iowa Fair Plan Update

In case you missed it, please see below from the Iowa Insurance Division regarding use of the Iowa Fair Plan.

The Insurance Division has received information from both consumers and insurance producers sharing challenges with finding insurance coverage after consumers receive a notice of cancellation or non- renewal from a carrier. In particular, some of these consumers have found themselves in a situation where their property was damaged by a storm event after receiving notice of cancellation or nonrenewal from their insurer, but before securing new coverage with a different insurer. Now, due to existing damage (that will be covered by the previous insurer) the consumer is unable to get new coverage in the voluntary market as the repairs are not yet completed.

According to the Iowa FAIR Plan Association website https://iowafairplan.com/producers, the existing eligibility guideline excluding properties that have unsettled/unpaid claims from previous losses or has unresolved damages from previous losses, has been temporarily suspended effective July 1, 2024.

Insurance producers are encouraged to help identify Iowans who may fit the above scenario. Insurance producers should shop for replacement coverage in the voluntary market, but if these efforts still result in coverage not being available, agents are encouraged to follow the steps provided at https://iowafairplan.com/producers to determine if Iowa FAIR Plan coverage is an option.

Coverage offered by the Iowa FAIR Plan to those needing it as a last resort will provide comfort and stability to Iowans finding themselves in a coverage gap through no fault of their own. The FAIR Plan was created not only out of an urgency and concern for the Iowans but for the entire insurance industry.

Why You Should Plan a Summer Community Service Event

There are several reasons and to find out more, check out this link Learn More provided recently by IIABA . Not only is this a great article but also very timely. Did you know that your agency can receive reimbursement from the Big “I” for much of your event? The Commitment to Community Marketing Reimbursement Program runs 9/1/23 – 8/15/24. All community involvement activities submitted for reimbursement consideration need to take place within that time frame, unless otherwise approved

Click HERE for program details. For a second year in a row, the IIAI Board has agreed to a maximum eligible reimbursement of $1,000 per agency. Reimbursement is rewarded based on order of application receipt. The total campaign budget is again $25,000. We would love to hit that amount so put on your thinking caps or perhaps you already have activities that could qualify!

If you have questions if your event qualifies, submit your application/advertising mock-ups or scripts to Brenda Kluger at Brenda@iiaiowa.org for pre-approval. Please note that the following mandatory requirements are still in place:

ALL event promotion must use Trusted Choice® logo or mention Trusted Choice® if doing a radio/television/podcast

Trusted Choice® logo must be present on agency websites and Facebook pages

If you need assistance with signage mockups, we have some set layouts or can possibly assist with customization. Contact Nicole Peffers at Nicole@iiaiowa.org for assistance.
