This year we are celebrating 50 years of mentoring in the Mid-South. Since our inception in 1968, Big Brothers Big Sisters has matched over 66,000 youth facing adversities with caring volunteer mentors.
Susan George, Executive Director of BBBS of the Mid-South, believes the work we do is as important today as it was 50 years ago, perhaps more. “The impact of a mentor's gift of time means brighter futures for our children and healthier communities for the Mid-South," says George.
“It is our goal to serve more children each year,” says Alfred Washington, Big Brothers Big Sisters Board Chair. “This will be possible with the continued support of our partners and communities leaders. "We will celebrate our 50th Anniversary with two very exciting events, the 50
Anniversary Alumni Picnic and the inaugral BBBSMS Legacy Luncheon, these events will seek to engage new constituents and re-engage participants, donors, volunteers that have been involved over the last 50 years.
