To Our Extraordinary ASOH Community:
Thank you for sharing your generosity and heart with us for over a decade. Your meaningful impact has led us to the greatest honors an organization can receive. These unprecedented recognitions would not be possible without our remarkable recipients, donors, volunteers, and partners who continue to invest in ASOH's mission. We are humbled to share these achievements with you all. Thank you!

Fast Company World Changing Ideas – 2026 Awardee
A Sense of Home receives this prestigious award for developing an innovative, scalable solution to preventing homelessness, centered around the science of creating a sense of home and a sense of belonging. Fast Company's World Changing Ideas List recognizes companies and organizations that are developing creative solutions to the most pressing issues of our time. This award affirms our unique model and capabilities to drive real-impact, not only for youth aging out of foster care, but also for other populations who have experienced trauma and instability. Specifically, the success of our Disaster Recovery Program, which we immediately launched in January 2025 to support our fellow Angelenos who survived the fires.

TIME Visionaries – 2026 Honoree
The inaugural 2026 TIME Visionaries list recognizes leaders who are driving meaningful impact in the lives of children across education, health and wellness, technology, and economic opportunity. As one of only fifteen individuals selected worldwide, A Sense of Home's Founder and President, Georgie Smith, receives this distinguished honor for the life-changing impact she has had on youth aging out of foster care. Georgie's bold vision, creativity, and kind heart created a movement that not only provides a unique, scalable solution to preventing homelessness but also allows space for the best of humanity to shine.

The Long Road Home for LA Fire Survivors
An estimated 70% of families are still displaced from the LA fires, leaving thousands without a sense of home since the beginning of 2025. That’s why we are working to bridge the gap with a powerful campaign: The Long Road Home, mobilizing our fellow neighbors to help fund the furniture, resources, and sense of community needed for recovery.
We are grateful to Outfront Media for highlighting our efforts by donating billboards across Los Angeles for our Disaster Recovery Operations. Keep a lookout for ASOH billboards across the city, snap a pic, and tag us on socials. Thank you, Outfront Media!
Stay tuned as we share the stories of those who are rebuilding after disaster, through the lens of LA-based Director and Photographer, Marcus Ubungen.

This month is an opportunity to celebrate the love that gave birth to ASOH.
12 years ago, our founders, Georgie Smith and Melissa Goddard, journeyed towards adoption, which, unbeknownst to either of them, became a pivotal turning point in their relationship and the birth of A Sense of Home.
