"Develop Christ-centered students who aspire to excellence
and impact their communities for Him."
OCTOBER 2020
"For your steadfast love is before my eyes, and I walk in your faithfulness." (Psalm 26:3)

Only School to Hold 3 Accreditations!
Favored by God
God promises to bless us abundantly as we give back to Him in many ways. When we exemplify His will and spread the Good News Gospel throughout our daily lives at school, at home, and within our communities, He blesses us in return.

The NVCA Board, administrators, and staff have worked hard throughout the last year to meet all accreditation requirements.

It is with excitement that we announce we have received full accreditation by the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI), National Lutheran School Accreditation (NLSA), and Cognia™. NVCA is the only school nationally and globally to hold these three accreditations.

We thank God for all of His blessings upon our school, our students, and families. We are eager to continue our mission to develop students who aspire to excellence within a Christ-centered environment who will go forward into the future making a difference in their communities.

Our K–5 Students
Raised $4,000
At NVCA, our mission is to develop aspiring and empowered students to impact their communities for Him. Over the last year, NVCA's K–5 chapel offerings have been providing clean water and the Gospel message to change lives in Nepal. To date, our students’ generosity has raised more than $4,000, enough to build four wells via the Quenched mission. For more information, visit quenched.org.

Upcoming Gifts to Bless
Mongolian Youth
The upcoming second quarter preschool chapel offerings will support the Global Kids Fund through the Lutheran Hour Ministries Gospel Adventures® program. The students will learn a little about Mongolia, which is the mission area chosen for 2020. Each child will make and decorate a special coin bank at home during fall break. When school resumes, they will bring their coin banks to class to collect their chapel offerings.

For more information about this ministry, please visit lhm.org and gospeladventures.org.
We Value Your Partnership
NVCA acknowledges with great appreciation all the support from our families and donors that enables us to carry out our mission.

We want to let you know that our fundraising season is soon approaching. Each year we hold three major fundraising events: the Fun Run/Color Run, the Annual Year-End Campaign, and the NVCA Auction and Dinner. This year we have a dollar-for-dollar match to inspire giving. The cumulative total of the three fundraisers will be matched up to $250,000. Proceeds from these events cover the 20% gap in costs to educate and provide special programs for our students and staff.

Because of your faithfulness, we are grateful to be able to nurture and educate your children to achieve academic excellence within a Christ-centered environment.

We look forward to our continued relationship and partnership with you to make NVCA the most trusted PS–12 Christian school in the valley.
A September to Remember
NVCA Places 340 Books in Children's Hands
Thank you to all who supported the 2020 NVCA Virtual Scholastic Book Fair! Your support placed 340 books in children's hands including those purchased for PS–5 teachers' classrooms. We are grateful for your commitment to instill and grow the love of reading in our children. We look forward to seeing you at our next Scholastic Book Fair.
Grandparents Week
This year we celebrated our grandparents and grand-friends with a week-long virtual event. One hundred and eighty grandparents and grand-friends received a daily email, presenting a different event each day, to enjoy from the comfort of home. The week's events included a virtual tour of the school, livestream chapel services for each grade level, a fine arts presentation, and heart warming messages via a video from high school students. The younger students made special gifts for their grandparents/grand-friends that were mailed to their homes. Thank you to our awesome marketing department, teachers, and staff for helping to make Grandparents Week a virtual blessing.
NVCA Has Spirit
Spirit Week 2020 was very special kicking off with a parade through the parking lot featuring our homecoming court nominees, stunt team, and soccer and volleyball teams. Throughout the week students and teachers participated in dress-up days, while middle and high school students competed in a variety of games: an obstacle course, tug-of-war, and more. Even though things were a little different this year with health and safety precautions in place, NVCA still has spirit!

Fun Run/Color Run 2020
Fun Run/Color Run 2020
An NVCA favorite schoolwide event is always the Boosterthon Fun Run for elementary students and the Color Run for the upper grades. Last year, our students and families worked hard to bring in donations that made the event a huge success. To top it off, we also were able to buy two school activity vans.

Get ready for this year's run taking place on October 30. We are only two weeks away from our Fun Run and Color Run. This year we aim to raise $40,000 for a garden, the band program, iPads and carts, plus a school comfort dog. An email with all the details will be sent to parents, and the kids are excited and ready to run!

As with many events this year, we'll be collecting donations online. If you have any questions about giving toward the Fun Run or Color Run, please contact saras@northvalleyca.org.

Athletics
Volleyball and Soccer
on the Move
The NVCA Lady Lions Varsity Volleyball Team got off to a good start this year. With a few brand new players, and returning players learning new positions, they have been training hard and improving with each practice. They had a few tough matches against teams that were one or two divisions above NVCA but held their own and stayed positive. With only one game in their own region thus far, and earning the win against Bagdad, they are looking forward to the rest of the season's regional games. So please continue to cheer for your Lady Lions, and thank you for your support!

The middle school team opened the season with a huge 4–1 win and finished the month of September with a 2–3 record. The first two victories were capped by strong performances by the team and goals from multiple players. Heading into the month of October will be a push for potential playoff opportunities and another busy month. The middle school soccer team will compete through the month of October, hoping to push for a playoff stand.

The high school soccer team is competing at the varsity level for the first time in program history and has shown great strides as a team. Regional play takes place during the months of September and October. During the month of September, the high school team went 0–4 and has seen progress competing at the varsity level. The team continues to build with a team focus and continues to see improvement every time they are stepping on the field.

Both teams are continually battling and show great pride as Lions!
