SSPA Gets a New Site to Save Lives!
It's official!

Our lease agreement is signed and we're about to break ground on our new facility in Sacramento!

“To say I'm thrilled about the unlimited potential this site holds for SSPA’s programs and shelter dogs is an understatement," said SSPA Director Delyse Gannaway. "This new facility is a game-changer, and it will allow us to help even more of these amazing pets in need and save more lives!"

It's going to take a village to get this up and running, so if you'd like to volunteer for the effort, please email us at [email protected] and we'll add you to our list!

We'll likely plan some weekend trips to the site in the near future to get organized and start setting it up!

A few needs at the site: fencing is the biggest one, along with garbage cans and baby pools!

Innovative community-oriented programs are the future, and - with your support - we’ll carry the passion and skills behind SSPA to new heights.

Thank you for your steadfast support and for helping us go the extra mile to save lives!

Foster Dog Feature: Cash
Did you know that we have some shelter dogs already getting accustomed to home life in foster?! That’s right - they’re learning all the ropes of being a wonderful, indoor family companion!

Was someone looking for the most stunning brindle fluffernugget around (who also happens to have the pawfect head tilt)?!

Meet 1-year-old Cash, who’s lucky enough to be one of our dogs in a loving foster home!

This handsome guy is absolutely precious. He takes a bit of time to warm up with people, but will come out of his shell and show his fun, silly and playful side! He adores other playful dogs and would do best in a home with other dogs. We suspect he would be OK with mannerly children. He’s wonderful!

Don’t miss out on this absolute gem; apply to adopt him today by emailing [email protected].
Happy Tails
It turns out Bean (black and white) has been home for a while!

Her fosters realized they simply couldn't give this cutie pie up!

Her foster-turned-adopter Leane sent us this photo with the following update: "Welcome home Bean! Or 'Beans' as the baby has named her. Matching sister collars and her own tag! We are so happy to officially have her as part of the family. We just love her to pieces!"

Thank you so much, Leane and family, for both fostering and adopting this baby girl!
Dodge, our beloved old man, found his home recently!

He gets to spend his days on a gorgeous ranch with plenty of shade trees!

He also has an adorable also-adopted 8-year-old dog sis! They already love lounging together!

His adopter Sherri said, "Dodge is settling in. He claimed a pillow in the dining room and that's been his spot! As long as he's happy, that's what matters!"

Congratulations Dodgikins! And thank you, Sherri and Roy, for giving this lovable senior a great home!
Don’t forget: If you adopted through SSPA, we offer post-adoption counseling to help with your new dog’s transition into your home! Email [email protected]! You can send "Happy Tails" updates there as well!
