Introducing: Sawyerville Season of Sharing

Plus, Circle of Friends, 5K Recap, and More!

From now until December 31st, the Thomas E. Jernigan Foundation is matching every gift to Sawyerville, dollar-for-dollar, up to $20,000 as a part of our Season of Sharing matching campaign!

We have a chance to raise $40,000 by the end of the year to support all of Sawyerville's programs: Summer Camp, Summer Learning, JumpStart, Mentoring, Person2Person, and Scholarships.

Throughout the coming weeks, we will highlight various types of sharing, beginning with 'Sawyerville alumni' sharing their testimonies and reflections on their time at Sawyerville. Stay tuned for more from our Season of Sharing. Until then, click the link below to become a fundraiser and/or give to see your generosity doubled!

Thank You, 5K Participants!

We had such a great morning in Greensboro at our 11th Annual 5K!

Thank you to our volunteers, runners, and those that 'slept in' while still supporting Sawyerville! Thank you, also, to Meg Byrd and our friends at St. Paul's Episcopal Church for making the event possible!

Person2Person Planning Continues

This week, our Person2Person program team met to continue planning for the weekeend conference. This team is made up of Abby Poole, Detyrick King, Lauryn McGuffie, and Mariyum Lowther, and we could not ask for better leaders!

At Person2Person, high schoolers from all over the state are invited to learn about the history of race in Alabama and discern how Christians are called to improve race relations now. Participants will also visit various historical sites that mark the Civil Rights Movement

in both Selma and Montgomery. This year's conference will be held over Martin Luther King, Jr. weekend from Friday, January 12th to Monday, January 15th. Participants in 10th-12th grade are invited to apply from now until December 1st.

Sawyerville Christmas Ministries

Sawyerville Christmas Ministry has been a two-part ministry in Hale County during the month of December for many years. This year, both ministries—the Sawyerville Christmas Party and Baskets of Abundance—will happen on the same day, December 16th!

All are invited to participate in the Christmas party at Greensboro Elementary School for an afternoon of games, singing, making Christmas cards, and gifts. All are invited, too, to support Baskets of Abundance and the effort to stock the pantries and warm the homes of 100 Hale County residents, including cancer survivors, seniors, and those with special needs. Each sponsorship is $125 and will provide a laundry basket full of non-perishable foods and an electric blanket.

This is a direct ministry and open to all parishes, reunion groups, Sunday School classes, book groups, families, EYCs, supper clubs, and individuals. Partner with others to sponsor one or more baskets at the link below.

*Make Sure to Select "Christmas Ministries" in the Dropdown Menu*
