"Don, I hope you remember me," the email read.  "Twenty-eight years ago I was fifteen years old and pregnant. You were standing outside the abortion center as my boyfriend and I drove into the parking lot."

"You began to talk to us as we sat in our car and you handed me some literature, challenging us to choose life. I remember telling you that 'my father would kill me' if he found out I am pregnant. You told me that my dad would have a right to be mad, but would not kill me.  My boyfriend and I drove out of that parking lot and several months later I gave birth to a most beautiful little girl."

"I have a picture of you, Don, holding my daughter, and have never forgotten you. I want to have you meet my now twenty-eight-year-old daughter, who was the class president of her high school, and has two beautiful children."

Of course I remembered her, and remembered holding that little lamb after she was born. (See photo)

I also remember going home that evening and getting a call.

"Hello. Is this Mr. Blythe?"

"I'm The father of the teenager you talked out of an abortion today."

I lightly thought, "Oh no! He killed her and is coming after me now."

The father continued, "I want to thank you for talking to my daughter and saving my grandchild."

So on Christmas Eve 2013 I met an articulate, loving woman and mother whom I had last seen in my arms as a newborn baby.

Now that's an awesome Christmas gift.

I spent most of the time trying to hold back the tears as we talked about our lives...what is and what might not have been. This was one of the richest moments of my life.

Oh, give thanks to the Lord, for He is good!
For His mercy endures forever.

Let the redeemed of the Lord say so,
Whom He has redeemed from the hand of the enemy...

He led them forth by the right way...

They drew near to the gates of death.

Then they cried out to the Lord in their trouble,
And He saved them out of their distresses...

He sent His word and healed them,
And delivered them from their destructions...

He turns a wilderness into pools of water,
And dry land into watersprings...

Sow fields and plant vineyards,
That they may yield a fruitful harvest.
He also blesses them, and they multiply greatly...

Oh, that men would give thanks to the Lord for His goodness,
And for His wonderful works to the children of men!

Psalm 107

In His Steps, sowing in the "fields,"

Thank you for standing with me.

I am Don Blythe of At the Well Ministries. This ministry of 30 years uses the the abortion issue as a springboard for sharing the Gospel.

My mission field comprises three main areas of outreach:  the abortion mills, high schools, and college campuses.

The email newsletters you receive give a hands-on look at what this ministry is all about.

I do not use the content of the letters to talk about financial support, and for 30 years the Lord has supplied my needs through the prayers and financial support of a small number of churches and individuals who believe in what I do and have seen the fruit of this labor.

If you desire to support my ministry, you can do so through regular mail or through the CashLinq donation link provided. CashLinq is a Christian direct-giving program that allows you to follow your giving history, and the cost to At the Well Ministries is minimal.

At The Well is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization.
