It's Our 33rd Anniversary!
Let's Have a SALE!  33% Off!

June 6th - 11th we are celebrating the 33rd Anniversary of The Caring Place.  We couldn't support the mission of The Caring Place without our community providing us with amazing merchandise and of course buying that merchandise!  So, to thank you we are giving you 33% off June 6th-11th at both of our thrift stores.  If you have friends that have never shopped here, this is the week to tell them to stop by!  There will also be opportunities to enter drawings for gift cards through the week.

What About the Community Benefit?

When donating to and shopping for items at Second Helping and The Shops at The Caring Place, you are also helping to fund programs and services that help our community.   Sales from both stores MORE than cover the operating costs at The Caring Place.  This means when you make a financial contribution, 100% of it directly impacts neighbors in need.  Where should you shop?

The Shops at The Caring Place
2000 Railroad Avenue | Monday-Saturday, 9am-4pm | Thursdays until 7pm

Second Helping

The Results of the Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive are In!

On May 12th, the Local 181 National Association of Letter Carriers (NALC) participated in their annual food drive, known as the "Stamp Out Hunger" campaign.  Through their amazing effort, and the community's generosity, this campaign collected 9,170 pounds of food.  We deeply appreciate the partnership with the NALC on this campaign.  With higher utility bills, childcare costs and other summertime expenses, this is a busy time for the Food Pantry.  We look forward to an even bigger year in 2019!  Thank you Georgetown!

Special thanks to local Scouts and community volunteers for being on hand May 12th to help load up food!  You make a difference in your community!

Who needs affordable art for a dorm, new apartment or home?  The Shops at The Caring Place and Second Helping have a fantastic art collection, but you might find you can make things more personal with this DIY idea.

Your item donations, shopping trips to our thrift stores, financial donations and volunteer time make a difference to people in our community.  This is just a glimpse of the impact you helped us make in the previous month.
