National Capital Presbytery 2-day Workshop: Bullies in the Church

Emotional Intelligence Workshop

by Deb Milcarek,
     Associate for Reconciliation

Race.  Reconciliation. Reformation.

This is the theme of this year's Big Tent gathering.  Held at beautiful Washington University in St. Louis from July 6-8, Big Tent is the bi-annual gathering of Presbyterians from around the country.  The theme will emphasize the hope of the Gospel and its power to transform society in our current cultural context, marked by anxiety, racial division, political animosity and economic inequality.  Through dialogue, workshops, exhibits and engagement with one another, participants will engage the Church in its mission of justice and peacemaking.

The cost of the conference is $395, which includes registration fees, meals and lodging.  The Commission on Reconciliation is offering a limited number of full scholarships.  The Commission on Spiritual Leader Development also has additional funds that can be used to attend.  Finally, Ministry Groups have offered support to attend in past years.  The bottom line - do not let the cost of attendance deter you from joining us!

In 2015 Baltimore Presbytery had over 20 participants in Big Tent.  Likely all of them would tell you it was a fantastic experience. Registration for Big Ten is now live! Please visit the Big Tent website and peruse the dozens of workshops that are offered.

Come to Big Tent - get energized and inspired!
