Power of the Purse 2019
Wow! What a day was Power of the Purse this year! Thanks to these ladies and even more who are a part of the Women United Council who put on the event we have quite a few things to celebrate!

  • Sandra Deal spoke, challenging us all to remember that to make a difference we must start early
  • Over 220 people attended the event learning about and contributing to childhood literacy efforts in our community
  • A huge thank you to our Diamond Sponsors Resource Partners, Piedmont Athens Regional, Caterpillar, Belk, and Jackson EMC
  • Thanks to sponsors, purse donors, generous attendees, a signed book by Dolly herself, and a matching gift; this event alone sends 892 children birth to five free books in the mail each month for a year!
