So what are you waiting for? Sign up today!
Hero Will Get His Surgery!
Thanks in large part to your incredible generosity, Hero will be able to get his life-changing surgery to alleviate discomfort.

The funds you donated to SSPA's fundraiser covered the cost of medical equipment to perform Hero's crucial FHO (hip surgery) - and future similar surgeries for other dogs.

Having the ability to perform this surgery in-house will eventually end up saving thousands of dollars!

We truly can't thank you enough for always being by our side to go above and beyond for shelter dogs!
Happy Tails
We received a marvelous update from Cooper and his family!

Can you believe that this boy didn’t pass his behavioral evaluation? Well, look at him now, thriving as part of a family outside the shelter - something we see often with these remarkable pups!

We mean it when we say: “Where all dogs matter!”

“It’s been one year since we came to Bradshaw shelter to pick up this dog we knew next to nothing about named Cooper. What a year it has been!

“As you know, Cooper started off as a pretty shy and reserved guy. For the first few weeks he was at our house he pretty much just wanted to be around his humans and lounge around relaxing. We are convinced he is aging backwards. The dog who started off napping 75% of the day is now doing zoomies all over the place, playing fetch, and constantly anticipating when his next walk will happen. He also just got a dental cleaning, so his new pearly whites make him look like a young pup as well.

“Some highlights from the year:
  • Cooper just got to take his first trip to the ocean, and he confirmed that water is very scary and waves are not to be trusted. Running through the sand is super fun though!
  • He has been to the snow a handful of times and thinks it’s awesome! He loves coming along on snowshoeing adventures.
  • He’s been making new friends (human and canine) and soaking in all the love that anyone will give him.
  • Cooper has been having closely supervised visits with his bunny siblings who live with us. He loves to lay outside their room and watch them through the gate, and is even more excited when he gets to go visit them up close. He really is a gentle giant.

“We absolutely adore Cooper. He is the best friend we could ever ask for and even though the past year has been a tough one, it has also been the best one because we got to spend it with him. We can’t wait to see what kind of adventures we’ll have with him in the next year.

“Peace, love, and belly rubs,
Cooper and his humans”

Now this is something to celebrate!

Thank you for making him such a beloved part of your family and staying in touch!
Leo is thriving with his family and has a new BFF!

Adopter Paula says: “Things are going so well for Leo and our family. He has found his bark (albeit only twice), is walking on leash much better during his twice daily walks and is definitely getting spunkier. Installing a doggie door this weekend. He is a loving, sweet boy who is a great match for our family. Thank you for checking in. We couldn't be happier with our new big fur baby!”

Impossible not to smile over that, along with these adorable photos!

Congratulations, Leo, and thank you to his family for adopting!

Teamwork Brightens Dogs' Lives
We want to give a shoutout to our amazing SSPA team members!

They spent a recent day at the Stockton shelter, taking adorable photos of adoptable pups and ensuring all large-breed dogs got out three times! It’s all about making sure the shelter dogs know they matter and setting them up for successful outcomes.

We are so grateful for the opportunity to work with the fabulous Stockton staff and dogs! And we are so thankful to our supporters who ensure we can keep touching the lives of more pets!

This boy came to the shelter in bad shape. He was an outdoor dog, chained in a kennel his entire life.

With the help of our awesome SSPA team and his foster, he's developed more confidence and learned that life can be good.

Let us tell you - this boy is resilient! He had owners who didn't show him an ounce of compassion, but now he's found a way to trust and even show his silly side.

Understandably, he can take a bit to develop trust, but once he does, he's marvelous!

He's low maintenance, mellow and easy to please, and has successfully lived with cats and other dogs!

Ready to bring him home? Apply to adopt him.
